The Ref that has admitted to a gambling problem, fixing games by calls or with other refs and other NBA officials........has in another article stated that some NBA refs are "company men" and are told by NBA officials how to call certain games or in the Final series to make certain that certain outcomes occur. He stated that the outcome of the 2002 and the 2005 Final series was fixed by people within the NBA. Read the article posted under Yahoo Sports NBA news.

I am sure Jackson might have have a fleeting moment of that about the first two games in Boston.

It's either a heap o' trouble for the NBA, or Donaghy giving the feds what he thinks they want, whether it's legit or not.

Gary,
The NBA is already in a heap of trouble. Stern and Phil Jackson and the head of the Players Assn. just won't admit it . This thing is going to turn even uglier before it's all over.

Let's keep in mind that (1) at this point, it's Donaghy's word, or possibly his opinion, and he may be right or he may not, and (2) he's alleging that some refs favored some teams/players/coaches. As a guy who's practiced in front of dozens of judges who gave one side a break based on past affiliations, connections, etc., it's part of life, not necessarily corrupt.
Find me a completely unbiased human judging system, and I'll find you a world that we don't live in.
ESPN.com legal analyst Lester Munson points out that these allegations are 11 months old, with no new charges being filed since they were made, either against Donaghy or others. The only reason they were released recently was in response to the NBA's claim for restitution for monies spent on its internal investigation.

It is not hard to believe that Donaghy is the tip of the iceberg. There are a few refs I have always thought might be a little sour, then again they might just have an ego problem.
