Mark Schmidt is on the short list of Ohio U. AD Jim Schaus for the open head coaching job. Tim O'Shea tookthe head coaching job at ... ready for this ... Bryant University (it's in RI) .. leaving OU after seven seasons, and with two years to go on his contract.
Made $193K at OU, jump to $300K at Bryant and a ten year guaranteed deal. Bryant goes D-1 this coming season for the first time.

Anyway, MM, you got any info on Mark and OU?

It is also being reported that Chris Mack is on OU's short list.

Above is the link to the Ohio U. message board thread about possible head coach hires. It mentions former XU assistants Jeff Battle and John Groce, and current XU assistants Chris Mack and James Whitford among dozens of possibilities.

Wise, I couldn't find anything linking Schmidt to the OU job. Any confirmation on this anywhere?

Message Boards are perhaps the worst possible source (including MM) for accurate "information."
Mine are in the world of Ohio media types and Ohio college coaches.
As I posted .. it's the rumor mill.
Mark's name is not the sole head coach being considered.
BTW, the guy who is the AD at OU is the son of one of the games best ever college coaches, Fred Schaus (WVa and Purdue) and a great one in the NBA (Lakers HC and GM).
Fred introduced the world to the Zeke from Cabin Creek ... another ledgend.

You may well be correct; I was just looking for some confirmable source, whatever it was, but it may not be out there at this point.

I'm waiting for MM (Muskieman) to ck it out.
