He's one of the players mentioned in the "Not NBA material" section.

But for a more optimistic comment-

Sam Amico of Pro Basketball News: "A few guys who weren't drafted but could be coming to an NBA city near you soon: Duke guard DeMarcus Nelson; Mississippi State guard Jamont Gordon; Tennessee guard Chris Lofton; Xavier forward Josh Duncan; and Massachusetts forward Gary Forbes. I also really like Virginia Military guard Reggie Williams, who led the NCAA in scoring this past season (27.8 points per game). Williams has been called non-athletic and a liability on defense, but the young man knows how to put the ball in the basket. Someone, please, give him a long look."

Just FYI, but the "Not NBA Material" headline refers to what the NBA thought of those players. It has nothing to do with what RTC thinks of their value. If you read a little further below, we talk about Lofton getting a chance to play in the League someday. The same could go for Duncan.

Best Regards...

I think the real Josh Duncan has to come forward. Is it the one who got benched last December, or the one who carried X on his shoulders in the NCAA tournament? I think he'll get a shot, but there won't be much room for error.

Is anyone else but me surprised the Chris Lofton didn't get drafted? He looked pretty darn good to me throughout the year.

With all the talk about who would and wouldn't get drafted, I kind of forgot about Lofton. Seems like some NBA team would have taken a flyer on him, unless the word was (correctly) that there was no need to waste a pick on him and they could sign him as a free agent.

Like virtually every undrafted player, JD's going to have to get into exactly the right situation for him to stick. If he plays like he did down the stretch, he stands a good chance of making a roster. If not, it's hello, Bulgaria.
