We have not had a thread in a while so let's see if X has made any offers lately. With two signed commitments ELIJAH TUCKER and CESARE
EDWARDS
6'3" 180 Lbs.Point guard Rowan Brumbaugh last Thursday received an offer. Other teams offering Wisconsin, Virginia Tech, Georgetown, Richmond, George Washington, Princeton.
Anyone else have a comment or contribution?

Thanks for the update. Skyhops Jr seems to think that Wilchers bro wants to play with his brother, which would be huge.

Xavier has extended lots of offers for the 22 class. However virtually all of them are based upon film study and video calls. They haven’t been able to actually watch the players, or meet with them, in person. The 22 class was thought by many of the “experts’ to be a much stronger class than the class of 21. But I’m of the opinion that there are going to be a lot of players that don’t pan out, a lot of players that transfer quickly when they find they really don’t like the school they picked, and a lot of good players that get overlooked because they don’t have good video for coaches to see. Xavier has as good a chance as any of hitting a home run or striking out. Everyone is in the same boat. One thing I did find interesting was the thought that more players may choose schools closer to home because they will have the opportunities to actually physically visit schools where they live. Right now most players are visiting schools only virtually because of restrictions imposed by COVID. Many players are also choosing to put their decision off until they can actually travel to the schools they are interested in. Hopefully that happens this spring. Hopefully the summer tournaments are back and hopefully the coaches will be allowed to watch.

I saw on twitter yesterday, one of X's recruiter-coach's aggressive pitch to a recruit, which was - paraphrasing, "he told me I could help them get into the upper half of the BE, and possibly make the tournament." High bar in the Steele program indeed. I hope Fordham doesn't sue X for plagiarism, as that is their pitch verbatim to recruits.

What is killing us is our inability to demonstrate taking upper mid level prospects and helping them become NBA starters or key rotation guys. Havent had much on that front in a long time. This has to be good fodder for the teams we recruit against.

Pretty small sample. Not that many annually make and eventually start for an NBA team. So that doesn’t really keep us from getting most recruits.

No way Fordham could get into the upper half of the BE.

I agree, we will occasionally "fall into" a guy that goes on to a significant NBA career, but I don't think there are too many players going elsewhere because we aren't developing them. We wouldn't get them anyway.
That said, it's hard to develop talent when you have a team made up of freshmen who come to school and leave after one or two seasons and grad transfers that are already "developed" and are what they are. How are you supposed to "coach them up" when they aren't here?
It's not unique to Xavier I know, but the roster needs to become less reliant on grad transfers for sustained success.
