1. The NBA Mock draft lists 7 players out of the Big 10 in the first round. Big 10 kind of dominates this year. 2. No Big East player listed. 3. The supposed so called best college player in the country from Kentucky is not listed in the first round at all. He is returning to Kentucky for next year. Being deemed best in college may not translate to a good NBA draft spot. 4. Most of the first round mock selections are coming from the G League, Foreign players, or up to 20 are freshman or sophomore in college....very few are a junior or senior in college. Appears that staying in college for 3 to 4 to 5 years may not help a college player get drafted in to the NBA during recent times. Observations only.

Small correction: Appears that staying in college for 3 to 4 to 5 years does not IMPROVE ONE'S CHANCES OF BEING A LOTTERY PICK.

That has been the case for many years. One big difference now is that these days, there are other paths to making an NBA roster. There are also other ways of making a living via basketball, now also while enrolled in school.

In fact, staying 3-4 years is a detriment, unless you went to Villanova. NBA wants you in their system as soon as your level play merits it. Coaching is uniformly better and more consistent.
