Summer League

Postby skyhops » Thu Jul 14, 2022 8:33 am

Nice to see Tyrique, Hanky, and Naji ballin out for the Pelicans in the summer league. Jones had 10 offensive rebounds in the game last night and Hanky had a nice game as well (Naji didn't play since he was only going to play a couple games). Too bad Steele couldn't help Jones develop an outside jumper otherwise he would be in the NBA. Hard to believe we had Jones, Scruggs, Q, Naji, Hanky, Welage, and didn't make the tourney. Unreal

takes team chemistry plus some good coaching. Calipari has had some of the best players in the country and has only 1 National Championship with KY....a lack of team chemistry plus ????coaching ? He also has 2 or 3 years of not even making the Dance while at KY.

Summer league. I think Jones could be a NBA player. He is a great rebounder and a good defender. Fearless and tough. I live out here in Warrior land and I think he could play for them. Set some bone crushing screens, rebound and give them some needed sandpaper. He wouldn't need to score much and Green is hurt a lot every season. Ten offensive rebounds is 7 open shots for Curry.

sounds like you should give that info to the Warrior staff.
I asked a ref if he could give me a technical foul for thinking bad things about him. He said, of course not. I said, well, I think you stink. And he gave me a technical. You can't trust em.

Looks like Tyrique is signing overseas again. Was really hoping he'd get a spot with the Pels since it seemed like he was playing well.

I'd love to see him in the NBA, but don't see it. He isn't nearly as nimble as Green, and can't over power the prototypical PF in the NBA. Not developing a shot outside of 19 inches didn't help either. Love his effort though, and he should be able to carve out a nice career overseas.
