Tomorrow is founder's day dinner at X and each year X honors a person or persons that have given to the school and the community this year Tom Sedler and is beautiful wife Genny will be honored. Tom Sedler represents the spirit of Xavier in many ways.

Tom has been called on many time by Xavier to help.
They were major contributors in the Cintas center and then gave $3 million to help build a new business facility.

Tom earned a degree in general business from Xavier in 1958, while working at The family-run and Cincinnati-based Home City Ice. His firm has provided jobs for many a matriculating student at X over the years.


Tom and Genny Sedler have made significant contributions to Bayley Place care center, Sisters of Charity
Tom has been on the Board of Directors of the Dominican Foundation
Tome and Genny have been long time donors of the Friars Club
They have helped The Cincinnati Symphony Association, the volunteer support organization of the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra.
They have been a Patron of The St.Vincent de Paul Society
They have supported Community Land Cooperative of Cincinnati
The ATHENAEUM, Mount St. Mary’s Seminary
Tom was a part of the St. Cecilia Congregation Planned Giving Advisory Committee for the Dominican Sisters

Recently, I was told a story about how Tom contributes to the City of Cincinnati by a member of my parish. It seems that a certain soup kitchen in the Over the Rhine area was experiencing a problem with their refrigerator/freezer system and called Home City Ice to see if they could get some ice delivered to help them preserve their food. Tom told them that he wouldn't donate ice to them but did one better and sent them new commercial ref/freezers.

I know I have not done Tom and Genny justice because they have done so much more but hats off to two of Xavier's proudest.
