We haven’t had a PG in years and it hurt us. Nunge picked a bad day to play soft.
Claude is pretty damn good. He was very poised against IN and is already an above average defender. They'll have two point guards - something Miller said he wants - when Green comes next year.

X didn't come out of the locker room with the effort they had in the first which Sean said was the most disappointing. I agree Desmond had 4 fouls and still gave us good minutes. Sean also said Colby wasn't a hundred percent and there is some word he was really hurting in the second half and didn't have the explosiveness we have seen. As I said in my initial post X needed to stop their best player Jackson-Davis or hold him down, but doubles didn't work, and one on one wasn't much better 13-16 for 30 in the paint looks like West on Waleskowski. X needs better D but when players like Jackson-Davis are on it is hard to beat them
I asked a ref if he could give me a technical foul for thinking bad things about him. He said, of course not. I said, well, I think you stink. And he gave me a technical. You can't trust em.

I’m not even sure that Claude is a Pg. Seems like a two but is not a great shooter. He will get better.

I saw Claude play in HS. He is a player and he can play the point. Believe me he will become an than X great. My early observations for what they are worth: What a difference coaching makes. X is very active on D, ball movement, 50/50 balls all so much improved. Fremantle's body language & attitude so much better than last year. KyKy is a different player. It will be interesting to see how he plays in the Big East when the opposition has scouted him. I liked how we looked against Indy a layup away from a big win. In retrospect I wish Sean has kept a time out in his pocket because we needed it at the end. He can really coach so I will forgive him. First time post for me but a long time reader and fan of you all.

All of these kids look great in HS. I'm sure Claude will be good, unfortunately for him he is going to have to play PG but I see him more of a two guard based on the eye test. Steele has left us without a PG and no backup bigs, so we will have to work with what we have. Hunter has played one good game in the four, so we will have to get something out of him and rest of the bench. I don't get much out of moral victories, but I am hate to lose. Our lack of D will keep us around 20 wins hopefully that is enough.

It is too early to say Claude isn't a PG. Regardless of his position he is a positive for X. Hopefully he improves in all areas but contributing as a Freshman is an amazing start.
