That is 3 Point Makes from one year to the next:

Per FS1 tonight - Highest 3-Point Pct.- Major Conference Teams - This Season:

Xavier - 42.3%
Penn State - 40.2%
Clemson - 39.6%
Virginia - 39.6%
Arizona. - 39.3%

Season # Made/Game. # Attempts/Game. Shooting %
2021-22 6.7. 20.9. .322
2022-23 8.0. 18.9. .423

Anyone on this site knows Coach Miller indicated it is important to have the right people shooting the 3 ball and in the right situation (i.e. not jacking up a wild 3 early in the shot clock).

Results to date are good; not that anything else would be expected with Coach Miller at the helm. The better shooters are shooting the 3 when it makes sense, not early in the shot clock, nor excessive bombs by lower percentage shooters.

Deploying a real 3 point strategy Is paying dividends with a structured, efficient offense. To date, that offensive efficiency is offsetting some of the defensive shortcomings.

It appears the incessant complaints by various posters here over the past several years were accurate. Open looks by capable shooters is apparently better than forced shots or open shots by bad shooters.

Chitown, very good and interesting post. Souley, is also another reason for the increased % from three. His % is through the roof.

Excellent point, thank you! Souley a cool 29 of 55 for 52.7% through the Seton Hall game. A real difference maker over his predecessor.

Nice to have you posting on the Board.

Every single player, everyone other than Tandy (coaching deficit w/ultra quick hook partly to blame w/him) is shooting considerably better than their career numbers. Kunkel is the only one who still takes forced threes, but he is also the one who can make threes from anywhere, much like JP. SM instilled a discipline not seen in Victory for several years. I have no doubt Scruggs would be shooting in the high 30s from three with this year's team, b/c he wouldn't see the court otherwise.
