All Big East Team
First team Kolek, Hawkins, Sanogo, Kalkbrenner , Hopkins and Boum. Jones made 2nd team and Nunge was honorable mention. Claude made All freshman team. I think Jones should have been first team. Colbys', numbers were 15.3 points a game, 5.3 rebounds a game and 4.6 assists. Koleks stats were 12.7 points a game and 3.9 rebounds a game and 7.9 assists a game. Hawkins had 16.4 points a game, 3.9 rebounds and 1.3 assist a game. i would take Jones ahead of either of them any day. I was surprised Freemantle didn't make at least honorable mention too.

Kolek was the best player on the best team, so that is an obvious pick. I would have put Jones over Hawkins. Nunge hit a brick wall late in year otherwise he would have been 2nd team. Good for Claude he unlike Nunge has gotten better as season progressed.

Agreed on Kolek. Jones was outstanding, and after three obvious choices, there were seven others who could have been picked.

SEC picked 8 players to their best team... no wonder Alabama wins so many games if the SEC allows 8 players. In the big east, it is 5 players and on a lucky night the three refs.Anti-Homer wrote: ↑Mon Mar 06, 2023 5:38 pmAgreed on Kolek. I asked a ref if he could give me a technical foul for thinking bad things about him. He said, of course not. I said, well, I think you stink. And he gave me a technical. You can't trust em.

Re: All Big East Team
Jones deserved to be first team. He was very efficient on offense, minus some occasions where turnovers were an issue. He also played good defensively. Nunge did finish poorly and it probably did drop him back from 2nd team.
