After the last four years, Katz's preseason prediction was very generous relative to most. We want C-Bus. I have no idea how these things are determined, but I long for another road trip in Mman's Winnebago. Is it too early for X to say they would have won the Nat'l Championship because they are missing a key player? Somes schools have worn out this narrative for over two decades now. I can't remember the last team to bemoan this though.

Before the Free injury, it seemed X was going to play in Columbus. In the 3/4/5 seed area, it would probably be beneficial to drop back a seed and get preferred location. I don't see that happening unless X makes it to the BE final. Doing that might be enough to show the committee this team is still dangerous.

Before the DePaul game, Xavier's net ranking was 22, but after the DePaul game, it went to 25. After the Creighton game, the new NET is 19. Beat Marquette, and it could be 15.
