So you can all thank me now. It's a law of the universe. The team always does better when I quit watching. I quit watching in the second half. Tuned back in for the last five seconds. That was fun.

In his post-season form, he would not let X lose, just like last year's tournamentKevin Reilly wrote: ↑Thu Mar 09, 2023 9:27 pmColby Jones took over. Amazing effort. Great comeback. We only played like 6 guys. Edwards barely played. We had some tired guys out there. Tough game tomorrow. Hope we get our rest. Need to enjoy this and come out ready at the beginning tomorrow. Jones is probably a first rounder after this game. Go X.
I asked a ref if he could give me a technical foul for thinking bad things about him. He said, of course not. I said, well, I think you stink. And he gave me a technical. You can't trust em.

Happy X came back and won. De Paul played outstanding...a tough loss for them , lead all the way except the last 2 minutes of the game.

Complex thinking obviously ain't in your DNA. He has been subpar in his strategic defensive scheming relative to his lofty standards, which means he is still pretty damn good. However, he is ultra-elite offensively which more than makes up for the former, and being a great defensive coach 17 years isn't canceled out by one. I only relish being right with criticism when X prevails, so I am happy tonight. I said X wins with offensive heroics, which we got from Jones and Nunge. They did play better D, even though DP still shot 61.4% from the field for the night. The change to a triangle and two was brilliant, even if DP scored once. Stubbs didn't know what to draw up after that, based on their haphazard execution.muskieman wrote: ↑Thu Mar 09, 2023 9:16 pmBipolar commentsAnti-Homer wrote: ↑Thu Mar 09, 2023 9:08 pmSorry. Objectivity is in my DNA. Guess what? When my son was in the 5th grade, he lost the ball twice trying to split a double team and he sat the rest of the half. Still think he was a heck of a player. SM is a great coach. Subpar defensively this year, but top three offensive coach. Remember how you died on the Travis Steele hill lecturing us for four years? I can't believe the scars have healed from that.
BTW: can we pin your endless platitudes and defense of Steele with his AAU three-point shooting offense, which was in the bottom third in percentage every year during his tenure?
Apologize now, or it will be a quiet road trip wherever we travel in your Winnebago to watch the 4 seeded Musketeers.

Wow!!! The cardiac kids but they came through. DePaul hit some unbelievable shots and it looked like it was their night. Colby refused to lose and took over. Gibson kills X. He does not play like that all the time but he is as quick as a cat. Our defense is what it is and that is AWFUL but it is not going to change at this late date. We have no clue on ball screens. I do not understand why. Hedge, trap, switch go over the top but do not go underneath and we do it every game. I don get it. I would have definitely gone zone at some point but I have no patience. It will be a tough one tomorrow after extending this much energy. I will take the W. Go X!

I would like to point out that AK was guarding J Johnson for most of the game, according to one of the coaches, and he was one of their leading scorers, but tonight he scored 9 points (averages 14.4 points) on 4-9 from the field and 1 for 4 from the three. AK scored 16. We await your retractionAnti-Homer wrote: ↑Thu Mar 09, 2023 9:10 pmNeither can Kunkel. Reason number 23 why you should mix in some zone.

Regarding what? Because he played decent defense one game? I don't think his lack of shooting or scoring was due to Kunkel's defensive prowess with all due respect to him. Everybody isolates Kunkel when they can. He's too slow and weak to be a great defender. He actually plays decent extended perimeter D but doesn't have the ability to make someone driving change directions, and often fouls. I guess you also think Hunter is the best 3-point shooter in on X right? He was 1-1 from three this year in one game. That's like, 100% I think. Boum has nothing on him.muskieman wrote: ↑Thu Mar 09, 2023 9:48 pmI would like to point out that AAK was guarding J Johnson for most of the game, according to one of the coaches, and he was one of their leading scorers, but tonight he scored 9 points (averages 14.4 points) on 4-9 from the field and 1 for 4 from the three. again with your bipolar comments. And nice strawman arguments to deflect your strange comments. Good thing the coaches disagree with you as they pointed out his contribution tonight holding his player well under his average while other went off for DePaulAnti-Homer wrote: ↑Thu Mar 09, 2023 10:00 pmRegarding what?
