Kyky is injured (too much wear and tear this year), and there is a family issue with Miles. Neither is in NY.

Tucker and Craft are in the game. Sean is looking to see if they are possible players he can use in the NCAA and beyond
That's usually when most coaches develop players for the Tourney, in the 2nd half of the last conference championship game. The year off of coaching shows he has cobwebs to clear.
why be a punk? Marquette was a good team all year, and they played 10 guys tonight and ran a tired X off the floor. Your ankles but be really sore jumping on and off the Miller bandwagon. You sound like Willie on 700 WLW...with his "I am with you win or win."
I asked a ref if he could give me a technical foul for thinking bad things about him. He said, of course not. I said, well, I think you stink. And he gave me a technical. You can't trust em.

I am as disappointed as anyone else. If you told me in October X would be 25-9, second in the conference, get to the Big East final, probably no lower than a four seed I’d take. Tonight was painful but tomorrow starts a new season let’s see what happens.

A six-game win streak would cure this loss.

Muskieman I'm with you on a six game win streak. Just what the doctor ordered. I'm hoping we play on Friday instead of Thursday even if we drop from a 4 seed to a 5 seed. The guys need to stay off their their feet for a couple days and recharge. We have at least 3 more good games left in us. I believe we haven't seen the last of our Muskies.

Getting to the championship game in the 2nd best league top to bottom in cbb was a great accomplishment. As great as SM was coaching OFFENSE this year, and against Creighton, he coached poorly with zero defensive adjustments except for the two whole possessions when he employed a Box in 2 against DP. Tonight was the reverse. He coached a very rare defensive gem in the 2nd half and laid a T Rex-sized egg offensively. Even Shaka knew SM wouldn't know how to exploit a 6'2" guard defending Hunter in the post because they went to it about three times.

SM didn't know how to set up the low post lob to Hunter, who had position, and 6'2" guards defending him. I think even Ewing would have figured it out. Some very astute poster consistently opined that SM should employ zone many, many, times this year, especially since the starting guards are poor defenders. What do you know. They played mostly zone in the 2nd half and had their best defensive half of the season. One of the top five offenses in cbb played their worst half of the year against said zone as well. A $5 Starbuck's gift card would await said poster, but unfortunately, Mods aren't eligible. Will Miller learn? One can hope.

I'll take a five over a four seed if it means X plays in CBus or Louisville. Frankly, the difference between the teams they would play is pretty minimal.

You know AH the more I read your posts I can’t understand why X didn’t hire you instead of Miller, just saying……

Well stated and share those sentiments.

Plus, this was the first time the #1 and #2 seeds met in the Big East Championship game since 2004. An accomplishment for both Marquette and Xavier in, and of, itself.

It has been a while since X and its fans confidently knew on the evening prior to Selection Sunday that a bid was well in hand. While similarly disappointed in today’s loss, tomorrow will bring X’s next challenge and fresh hope.
