Agree, Texas is solid. Of course one game at a time so let's focus on Kennesaw who can be dangerous. However, Iowa St. scares the bajeebers out of me.

Re: X a three seed
X has a hard draw. Assuming they get past Kenn St., they will probably play Iowa St, who beat Baylor 2x, Kansas, and Texas. After the 1st round, everyone except for the number one seeds will have very competitive games. I think X would only be favored by 1.5 against Iowa St. Then, they would play the best 2 seed (along with MQuette) in Texas. SM is worth 1.5 points a game overall except against a half dozen coaches, like Bennett, Self, Smart, Drew, Lloyd, & Barnes.

Re: X a three seed
Don't want to throw water on the fire but....... We have a easy path to the Final Four is crazy .I think there are at least 4o good teams and maybe 20 teams that could make it to the final four. Are we one of them.... absolutely ..
As everybody knows we are short handed. Foul trouble, Turned ankle , Bad matchup all could come into play. After day one there will be 32 very good teams left. Our starting guys can play with anyone but we can't afford a off night from any of them. We have a special coach and a special player in Jones. I am hoping Colby can have a tournament run this year like he did in last year's N.I.T.. Go X

Re: X a three seed
I agree with Zack X would have more flexibility and depth, but without him, it is going to take some luck and a good coach. We have one, let's hope we have both.Kevin Reilly wrote: ↑Wed Mar 15, 2023 7:38 pmDon't want to throw water on the fire but....... I asked a ref if he could give me a technical foul for thinking bad things about him. He said, of course not. I said, well, I think you stink. And he gave me a technical. You can't trust em.

Re: X a three seed
Iowa St had great moments this year so they could be dangerous but they underperformed more than they played great. They are now eliminated so Pitt is the next challenge. ACC is presumed to be down this year but Duke and Pitt have both looked good so far in the tourney.
TX did not look great against Colgate. The final score made it look like a blowout but Colgate was close until they played with desperation the last few minutes. TX doesn't seem super athletic, which is what Xavier struggles with. X obviously looked even worse than TX in round 1.
No doubt TX is a good team but all the 2s are good teams. They are also all beatable, especially AZ since that has already happened.
