Yes, he is not testing the water he is in full go. I saw a draft where he went to the Brooklyn team. Wish him well, and while I am at wishing well to people, let me be the first to wish HAPPY BIRTHDAY to XavierBob, who shares a birthday tomorrow (April!) with our former moderator Gary Griffin. Hope you have a great day and pray GOD will bless you with many more happy Days.

I asked a ref if he could give me a technical foul for thinking bad things about him. He said, of course not. I said, well, I think you stink. And he gave me a technical. You can't trust em.

I think this is the right move for Colby. I dont see him significantly increasing his stock with another year of college ball. He has a chance to be taken and many mocks have him in the 2nd round. Hopefully he works out well and sneaks onto round 1. Good luck Colby!longliveskip wrote: ↑Fri Mar 31, 2023 1:26 pmColby declaring for NBA Draft. I hope Colby has much success in the NBA, but I wish he had stayed. I don't get why he wouldn't keep the option to come back, just in case.

I agree, he should have left open the option to return in case it appeared he wouldn't be taken in the 1st round. I never understood why anyone would opt for the draft if projected to be in the 2nd round. Could very easily end up in the G league and it can be tough to get called up. Colby is a solid player but didn't separate himself from a few other starters and there were only a couple times he flashed anything that could be described as dominating. We will find out soon enough if this was a good decision.

For what it's worth I have read that Taran Armstrong a highly ranked Portal guy is down to West Virginia, Xavier and Washington. He sounds like a Colby Jones Clone. I read West Virginia is currently in the lead with Xavier 2nd. Not sure how anyone could meet Bob Huggins and like him but who knows . He would be a great pick up.

He wouldn't have to go to class, he could tie up and torture other student-athletes and punch horses, drive drunk without consequences.....what's not to love?Kevin Reilly wrote: ↑Sun Apr 02, 2023 1:47 pmFor what it's worth I have read that Taran Armstrong a highly ranked Portal guy is down to West Virginia, Xavier and Washington. Re: We should start to hear soon
Every draft projection I've seen has him going from 22-30. The worst case is probably early 2nd round. Thnx in large part to Miller, he dramatically improved the one facet of his game which needed the most work, shooting. This is especially true of his 3-point shooting which went from 27% to 40%. As someone said, he could enjoy a nice, long career. I've heard analysts compare him to Josh Hart.
Also, Miller is one of the most respected coaches in cbb and certainly has a lot of connections with the NBA. I'm sure he has weighed in.

You have a chance to be drafted after your Soph year, you take it. Colby wasnt going to get more minutes. Unless he wants a title or something else personal, he has made the right choice. If he was on the Euro or D/G League list, it would be completely different. Also, a track record of putting kids in the league helps recruiting.Anti-Homer wrote: ↑Sun Apr 02, 2023 2:44 pmEvery draft projection I've seen has him going from 22-30. Re: We should start to hear soon
Now that the dead period is over, we may see some stirring from transfer potentials. Last year it was around the first week of May before Souley committed. We may hear soon from some players if X marks the spot. This week we might see an upswing in more transfers announcing now that the season is finally over.

Sean gave us four before the end of the month, so let's hope he has one more in, maybe Taran Armstrong. Don't let him go to the Zags.
The most exciting thing up next is who will be the rotation of 7-8 or 9. Which freshman hits the rotation I hope they all have career years, and X hits THE GAME and comes out the winner. Why not dream big dreams?
