For those who could not listen
Sean Miller's show on Tuesday had an interesting nugget when he was asked about Kam Craft. Kam came to Sean to explore redshirting. Seems Sean and Kam have had a discussion about a possible red shirt because Kam has not had the opportunity to practice because of his knee injury, which has put him behind in his development. Did not participate until the first practice, so missed summer months workouts.
Sean said, "Although his surgery was successful and he made a full recovery, Kam didn't participate with us until the first day of practice this year, so he missed, in essence, April and May, all three summer months, and for the most part, all of September. I don't think he's as far along as he would have had hoped, and I think there's a chance that we're going to just use this year as a chance to continue to develop him..."
If given the redshirt, he would have three years of eligibility left.
Zach and Jerome are still working on graduate or extended undergraduate work
Bob Nunger is out for the season after tearing ACL and will have surgery within the next week or so.
Some of his other comments: not all quotes
"Lots of the turnovers came through nerves and were self-inflicted." "Just think of all the opportunities we did not get"
Not asking McKinght to go from level 1 to level 10
Want guards to be more vocal.
Sean says Jermome has hit every checkpoint and never had any stop sign. They are more optimistic that he will return to play ball again but estimate it might be next the beginning of next season. He said, Who knows, both might be starting here next year
Gytis had 10 points and 12 rebounds, which shows a knack for the ball. He plays with effort and does the little things. Hoping that he has more than one year. Been sick and missed like 8-10 practices.
Sasa had a great spurt last night, guarded more a forward. He has played with some good coaches and is battle-tested. A real part of this year and a big part of the future.
Lazar is a talented prospect. "Him, Des and Swain have the highest ceiling." Lazar was slated to start and will miss another week, it is to be hoped.
David Miller spearheads the international recruiting efforts. He is over there constantly. It is a priority for the staff.
Des 6'5" has a wingspan of 6'8". Is in unbelievable shape. If he had not cramped up, he might have had 35 points. He shows younger players how to play and handle criticism.
Oliveri, in the last 7-10 days, has started to settle into his shooting. Sean said that he "hasn't seen better shooters than Quniney and Trey" Trey has been statically the best shooter. Counting on Q and Trey from the three point line.
