Need an assessment from OSD and others in Purdue country. I know nothing about Purdue except for the fact that they have a slow but skilled, potential NPOY behemoth at center and a really good sophomore PG. They obviously have a lot of other talented players. I expect Ousmane to foul early and often and eventually foul out. X may have to resort to double Eddy whenever he touches the ball deep in the post like the undersized team who upset them last year. However, Purdue usually has a bunch of good shooters, so it will probably come down to a "pick your poison" scenario. No prediction here, b/c Purdue would be a comfortable dog with a fully, healthy roster (including Free, Hunter, Lazar, & Craft), much less one that relies on having their 7th best player as the only returning player from last year's team. Hoping X can keep it close, and possibly squeak one out.
I wonder if Lazar plays?

Re: Purdue
WHEN ON THE ROAD, JUST STEAL A WIN. Need some MILLER MAGIC
I asked a ref if he could give me a technical foul for thinking bad things about him. He said, of course not. I said, well, I think you stink. And he gave me a technical. You can't trust em.

Re: Purdue
Xavier is +16 tomorrow? I know we are thin down low and don't shoot week, but that seems like a lot.

Re: Purdue
Purdue isVERY deep. They have two very talented experienced guards and a sharpshooter forward to go with Edey. Everyone back from last year. A team from a game a couple of nights ago tried the same D as the team that beat them in the NCAA. That team the other night got destroyed. This year so far their guards are splashing threes and one of the two guards is a lock down defender. Expect him on Des or Olivari. To stay within 16 might be a victory. Purdue’s two games have been against stiffs and they won both by thirty. Add that we are not a favorite of Painter’s and X has a five game winning streak going against him.

Re: Purdue
This game is especially interesting for me since two of my daughters are Purdue grads as are six of my grandkids. One grandson is a Xavier grad.

Spread is now 17.5, that is hard to believe.

Re: Purdue Game Thread
I got it at +18 early this morning, back now to +17.5, Put a dime on it. Seems like too much but we could get avalanched if our youth loses its composure. Nice early barometer - I have no illusions of stealing the 'dub, (although as Joe Nuxhall always said, "if you swing the bat you're dangerous!) Hoping to see our 3-gurad combo hold up and make a few shots. Going to be brutal in the post. That which does not kill us, shall make us stronger...

Re: Purdue Game Thread
I am sure the fans at FDU thought they had no chance against Prudue in the NCAA tournament last year. Purdue could be another Virginia this year and sweep away all the nightmares of last year, but tonight X also has a only chance of all the D1 schools to be the giant killer in more than one way.
