Re: Purdue Game Thread
Go on a mini run with Edey out and then we decide to take ill advised three's again. Not a very cerebral team at this point.

Love Green, but he is too trigger happy now, and getting abused on D.

Re: Purdue Game Thread
I thought there was a 3-second rule. Edey must be building a house because he just stands in the lane. When he comes down the floor, he chucks our guy every time, but you touch him, and it is a foul. X needs to find someone that can hit a three more than once in 5 tries
I asked a ref if he could give me a technical foul for thinking bad things about him. He said, of course not. I said, well, I think you stink. And he gave me a technical. You can't trust em.

You can't touch Edey either. We know that Xavier can't make threes, however if we can't get to the line we are in trouble.

Tough to beat anyone when you shoot 25% from three and they shoot 50%. Shooting 2 foul shots to 19 when the 19 shots come out to 16 made. Based on shooting percentage I am surprised they are not up 20.

I abhor blaming refs, but he got every call, including knocking Nemeiksa down. Good showing by the guys. They'll get better, especially when Lazar comes back. Happy with the performance. Warts have been noted above but we will get better. Really liking Swain. This game will help us later in the season.

Very encouraged by Our effort. Ciani, Green and Swain can play. Very good second half by Claude. McKnight and Nemeiksa had good 2nd half's too. I think they called a lot of cheap fouls on Xavier. Heck one time Edey threw Ciani on the ground . We looked like we could make the tourney tonight. I feel a lot better about this team after tonight. Olivari had a very tough night. Go X.

Yes, Claude really acquitted himself very nicely in the 2nd half: 13 pts, only 1 T.O., and 3 assists. Swain and Green, and Ciani (and presumably Lazar) show how good the core of young players is. There are exactly zero teams who will be favored going into Mackey this year. Great game plan by Sean, but his rare misstep was a doozy: Leaving Ousame in after getting his 3rd with 17:30 left.Kevin Reilly wrote: ↑Mon Nov 13, 2023 10:48 pmVery encouraged by Our effort. One speed Oli is going to have to adapt to the non-open gym offense he had at his old school. He will be fine.Kevin Reilly wrote: ↑Mon Nov 13, 2023 10:48 pmVery encouraged by Our effort.
