The ESPN POWER RANKING for men's college basketball after the Xavier loss to UConn dropped X from a 37 to a 47 .

Not shocking, X was not even in the game. Everything bounced UCON way so just move on as the team seemed to do against St Johns.

It is getting close to crunch time for this team. If X can turn the St Johns win into a 4 game win streak, X will be back to reasonable odds of making the tournament. Then get 4 of the next 7, plus 1 win in the BE tournament. Not sure if that gets X in but should put them close.

Based on schedule, the above is very possible. Question is whether X can get revenge for the loss vs Creighton and win all the games they should win.

Season not over by a long shot.
An automatic bid is a long shot, but between now and the BE title game, we still have a lot of chances.
Note that Villanova is a bubble team with a lower NET, similar record, and worse schedule. They have one more quad 3 loss and one more quad 1 win.
Won't take much to get us in the conversation!
Let's March!

The Nova vs X game will eliminate 1 of the 2 teams from tourney talk. Nova is likely only in the conversation because of history. Xavier needs to beat them at home.
