Re: Portal time and names
I asked a ref if he could give me a technical foul for thinking bad things about him. He said, of course not. I said, well, I think you stink. And he gave me a technical. You can't trust em.

I hope Green doesn't leave. I'd hate to lose an entire class of frosh.

And then there were none Lazer in portal now too. This is one f#@ked up systemKevin Reilly wrote: ↑Mon Mar 25, 2024 8:06 pmWow . All the Bigs are leaving except Djokovic and Nemeiksa. I will say I am surprised about Ousmane. He didn't have a lot of offensive skills but he was tough and gave it his all. He was foul prone and that hurt him and us. Sounds like the team wasn't very close and I guess that can happen with 9 new guys. I believe Miller will turn this around. We look like we will hitting the portal very heavy now. Still don't know why we only have one high school recruit for next year. I know a lot of recruiting good High School kids is a two to three year process. I hope that is the reason instead of us not having enough N.I. L. money. Skyhops probably knows but maybe that information is better kept quite.

March 28th Enquirer article claims 7 scholarship players have left the team and only one has transferred in and more might leave. That appears to be an almost complete re build for this team and basically makes the team an unknown quantity for next year.

At what point does a fan say “I’m done with this nonsense “?

Yup,
He really screwed the pooch on player mgmt last year. Just hope Green doesn't leave either but considering the lack of opportunity (or quick leash) he was afforded, I can see him seeking greener pastures as well. Miller owns this. The onus is on him to right the ship. I think he will, and hope he learned a valuable lesson.

Never. Bball is more popular than ever. I saw a stat on Twitter claiming that the NC-MSU game, not even a marquee matchup, drew a greater audience than every NBA game this season, and outdrew the TV audience in CFB in all but six games this past year. That's amazing!gym from delhi wrote: ↑Thu Mar 28, 2024 3:53 pmAt what point does a fan say “I’m done with this nonsense “?
I suspect people will react to it like they did when free agency first hit professional sports. There was a lot of pearl clutching claiming free agency would ruin it, but all major sports thrived and prospered. I do think there needs to be some kind of cap, but do not know if that is legally admissible.

Re: Portal time and names
I looked up 2023 stats on college men's Division 1 basketball and it said 20% or over1000 scholarship players used the portal to go to another school/team. And 2024 will probably be about the same.
