Nemeiksa
Another big in the portaL. I read Miller didn't like Nemeiksa's effort especially against U Conn. I thought he played pretty hard for the most part. He shouldn't be a starter in the BIG EAST but really none of our Front Court were good enough. Don't know if all these guys are being encouraged to leave or they just see the writing on the wall. I hope they land on their feet and go somewhere that they get some minutes. Crazy off season so far.

I have not been surprised by anything so far in the off-season. The only surprise will be if no one else leaves, other than Ducharme. I am not suggesting that I hope he does leave, but I think it's probably inevitable.

If you are going to have a voluntary or encouraged purge to the portal. Best it happens sooner than later so other players are drawn to X for opportunity.

Re: Nemeiksa
I was disappointed to see Nze leave since he had potential and to a lesser extent Abu. I'm not sure how losing most of our bigs is a good thing since we have none coming in with the new class. Wishing and hoping that Miller gets his type of guys in the portal just sounds like another rebuild. If Claude does leave we will be stick at bottom have of BE again. The Furman transfer helps for depth, but he is not a great shooter.

Supposedly shot 42% last year. Have heard two stories on his threes. One report said he shot only 29% from three. If so he hit one heck of a lot of his twos. In the 2022-23 season he shot 36% from three. Who knows. Trust in Miller.skyhops wrote: ↑Thu Mar 28, 2024 8:03 amI was disappointed to see Nze leave since he had potential and to a lesser extent Abu. Re: Nemeiksa
I think he is a better 3-point shooter than he showed last year. Prior to, he shot 35-36% over the last two years. I think one problem is he played for Steele 2.0. They threw up threes like Muskieman throws around Benjamins to the captains at O'Charleys. Few guys are good high-volume shooters. In his second stint, SM has an outstanding record of players showing at least a 5% improvement from 3 relative to their career averages. That's remarkable. They include Freemantle, Boum, Kunkel, Jones, Nunge, McKnight, & Olivari. Two reasons: Good sets and shot selection. Foster was also contacted by Texas Tech, Gonzaga, Cal, Indiana, and Clemson (?). He himself can't elevate the program to its customary elite status (11th most wins in the NCAA since college basketball became a relevant sport in 1985) but is a good get if X gets three more good players, along with a healthy Freemantle, and assuming the hemorrhage stops now, which is highly unlikely.skyhops wrote: ↑Thu Mar 28, 2024 8:03 amI was disappointed to see Nze leave since he had potential and to a lesser extent Abu. I asked a ref if he could give me a technical foul for thinking bad things about him. He said, of course not. I said, well, I think you stink. And he gave me a technical. You can't trust em.
