The portal flows both ways

Postby muskieman » Wed Mar 27, 2024 5:36 pm

Xavier lands 6'4" 200 lbs. Senior Furman transfer guard Marcus Foster. shot 36% in ‘22-‘23, and 35% in ‘21-‘22.

A career 79% free throw shooter and has shot above 81% the last two seasons. Also has a knack for drawing fouls

Started in both NCAA Tournament games for Furman he says he chose the Musketeers over Indiana and Cal.

I asked a ref if he could give me a technical foul for thinking bad things about him. He said, of course not. I said, well, I think you stink. And he gave me a technical. You can't trust em.

Well that is some great news. Welcome Marcus Foster. Sounds like he can play ( 17 points a game and 7.5 rebounds ) Not sure what that means with Claude and Green but we needed another guard with Olivari graduating. Great start to the off season.

I have Zero insider info but I do know Stanford Has three players in the Portal we could use. A 7 foot French center Raynaud, , Carlyle a 6-1 guard and Stojakovic a 6-7 wing. All three are Freshman and can play.

That would be swell, but bringing kids from the West coast to Cincy not an easy transition.

Agreed.

The only hope is that Adam Cohen has a relationship with some of them, but highly unlikely since they are freshmen. Just hope he doesn't get any more Int'l players who would struggle to be impact players in the AAC. Djoko was a gem, but unfortunately........

Good point Anti-Homer. I forgot about the Cohen angle. It is hard to get West coast guys to leave but we did get Derrick Strong and Torraye Braggs. Two of my All-time favorite Muskies.

Dan Hurley with a Funny Quote. I just don't thinks it's healthy for people to change teams like you change underwear.

I hardly ever post, but watch regularly. I'm a '59 grad, so I've been a Musketeer for a long time.
My first question, does anyone have info about Freemantle and Hunter? The rest of the current jumpers just didn't seem to have the right stuff, although I'd like to have seen Lazar and Trey hang in.

Lazar is in the portal, sorry. But so far neither Sasha in nor Green are. Free and Hunter are expected back but who knows how healthy and/or effective.

Sasa Ciani was the first to enter the portal. Green from what I hear will most likely enter. So far the portal flows one way at Xavier.
