XU 2011. I am not surprised by Claude's ranking. He made a huge jump in scoring but his passing, shooting, defending , passion and hustle all were below average. I think he has it in him to be a much better all around player but his ranking to me was higher than he deserved. I wish him well but with the guards we picked up we sure look like a more talented team. Sounds to me and I have no real knowledge that he was receiving some poor advice from someone ( family, friends or agent). Anyways good luck Des and maybe a new coach can get him to play a all around game.
I disagree with your points re: his passion, and his ranking. I think he showed great passion, but he just doesn't wear it on his sleeve. I also think he has all the tools except for a long range shot, but I believe that he will improve on his percentage this year. There are very few guards better in the paint than Claude, too. It' 's ashamed he left, b/c Claude would have thrived with the shooters X is bringing in, and a stretch four in Freemantle. X won't see four in the paint defenses this year that they often faced in the past year.

I can't blame Des for going out and trying to get his bag, which is really what it is all about in his camp since he will not be the main point guard for any of these big schools that are looking at him. I feel for Coach Miller since he is the main reason that he showed one of the greatest improvements I've seen from freshman to sophmore year. Millet to his detriment continued to give him the last shots in big moments, which we all knew how that turned out. The last few games Des did seem disinterested and his played suffered in second half of these many home loses (his 3 point shooting at home was terrible). He went for the money and we added much needed shooting.

I think Des actually made a great choice, he won't have to be "the guy" anymore, on what looks to be a loaded USC team next year. That will likely cover some of his shortcomings. And can't blame a young kid for wanting to be in Cali and around hot SoCal babes.

I think both he and X win in the end. Happy for him!

He will have the ball in his hands much less at USC. Not the right path to the league but maybe he got some nice short term loot. I saw him as a potential draft pick at some point.

That's the opposite of what he wants. He is expecting to be "the guy." He probably got a big bag of cash, but I don't think it was a foregone conclusion he was leaving X. I think he was dipping his toe in the water, which is his prerogative. However, he left Miller no choice but to go out and get really good guards, and X did that, leaving him jilted and no choice but to leave.

It has been a forgone conclusion for a while that Des was gone otherwise we would never had gotten Maddox and especially Conwell. Claude’s group pushed him to get his bag. He will not be a first round pick unless he can shoot the 3 just look at Colby and his draft status and he had a better all around game. We got shooters and more physical, good luck in La La Land.

Remember when Des was a freshman, and NBA scouts said he was the best potential NBA player on X's team? I hope Des made the right move for him, but he will find out now that the so-called greener pastures have higher water bills. His crowds will not be as big as Cintas's as USC averages around 5 thousand and that is considering they sell out only the UCLA game and his flying mile will increase with the cross-country trips to Penn, Maryland, and Rutgers.

I guess Des will see that USC men's basketball is the third sport outside the football and women's basketball teams. The women average more fans and would have been in the final four last year if they didn't have to meet UConn in the E8.
I asked a ref if he could give me a technical foul for thinking bad things about him. He said, of course not. I said, well, I think you stink. And he gave me a technical. You can't trust em.

Be interesting to see how much Claude gets in N.I.L. money. Doesn't Bronny James make like 4 million?
