Apparently true. This would be a huge blow to the BE IMO. And we are negotiating for a new tv deal.

With nothing but my gut to back up my prediction, Hurley stays. He will get a bump at UConn and is in rarified air if he three-peats, and he has the team to accomplish. Also, being able to have your father and extended family come to every home, and several away games, is an immeasurable benefit.
I think of Cronin. No one thought he would leave, due to his close relationship with his father. However, the only reason he left, is b/c the pitchforks were coming out, as the fans had the audacity to want a coach to have taken UC past the 1st weekend more than once in his pathetic 17(?) years at the helm and accumulate more than 7 wins in that period. The biggest fraud in coaching since Guy Lewis, who lost with Phil Slamma Jama. Wes Miller is following in UC's long 5-decade legacy of mediocrity, interrupted by the most criminal, fraudulent, and cheating decade of NCAA history, under the stewardship of one Bob "Suge Knight" Huggins.

Well he did indeed turn it down and is going for number three in a row. Now stay tuned for the rumors about U Conn going to one of the Power Five conferences. You heard it first here. And they might well go. The only hold back is that there football program is so bad that no conference will want it.

Great news for The Big east and good for Hurley. Not many would pick Storrs and 6 million a year over LA and 12 million a year.

You arent exactly making bold predictions. UCONN has neen looking for a spot in the high rent district since the old BE fractured. Their wretched football team makes them a financial negative to any power conference. Nobody will admit them unless they are willing to take nearly 0% of rev share.
What will likely happen at some point is these schools will wise up and create conferences for football, conferences for basketball, and then conferences for everything else combined. More money, more margin, less student travel for unprofitable sports. The major holdup would be the legal standing of their current conference agreements and media contracts. Two big hurdles, unfortunately.
