For Big East play and other top tier games, Zach has to be the stretch 4 that he showed two seasons ago when we had Nunge. We can play the faster, 4 out game. Zach is a better than average defensive rebounder because he has a nose for the ball. He just doesn’t have the bulk to play defense as a five and playing the 5 defensively hurts his offensive game stamina. If one of the big transfers can add more offensive than Abou, we are in positive territory. I agree, too, that under 30 minutes a game should be Zach’s limit. The pre conference games are really important. We can’t have such close games or losses like last year. We need those games to develop and see what all can provide. To some degree, Zach should resemble Kanter’s skills.
Looking forward to a fun and exciting year.

Re: With the talent WHO PLAYS WHERE AND HOW MUCH
Zach playing 30ish minutes is good for him and X. He plays better with rest most of the time. I'm not putting expectations on him. He has dealt with injuries and I hope he comes back at peak performance but all good if he is a step below where he was. I expect him to give max effort and contribute. He will be an upgrade from last year even if he is not at the level he was before the injury. If he is a defensive liability, Sean will need to figure out how to limit his weakness while maximizing what he can do offensively. Possibly shorter minutes with an offensive focus that runs through him while on the court or zone or finding the right defensive matchup. Swain and some of the other bigs may make it possible to give Zach the worst player of 3 positions.
I look forward to having him back. Hoping for a fun season.

Like I said, give Zach more rest and have him at his peak by BE and the tourney. I hope he and one of the bigs can do that high-low pass that was so successful with Jack.
I asked a ref if he could give me a technical foul for thinking bad things about him. He said, of course not. I said, well, I think you stink. And he gave me a technical. You can't trust em.
