Morgan St Dec 10 game thread

I didn't even know we had a state named Morgan. Morgan State Bears are 5-7

Looking ahead can be a formula for disaster, but as fans, X's next three games after Morgan State are at UC on Dec. 14, BE opener at # 18 UConn on Dec. 18, and No. 6 Marquette at Cintas on Dec. 21.

X cannot afford to wind up 8-5 after these games. We need all players to step up

Morgan State is one of the worst 15 teams in the country, or on par with 3-4 other teams X has played this year. X is favored by 30.5; I'm torn. For perspective, Vegas made X 36.5-point favorites against five folding chairs, so........

BTW, the first 10 people who come to the Moderator's Suite will be treated to some mozzarella sticks and grape Fanta. Go X!

Morgan's defense currently ranks T-No. 46 in the country in turnovers forced (183 turnovers; 15.3 avg.).
They get a lot of steals and X hasn't been taking care of the ball.

I'd like to see X get a good lead and play Zach less this game.

Not to be a pessimist but other than tonight I do not like our chances in the next 3. But that is why they play the games. Go x!!!

What a difference when we can get shots around the hoop and get the ball inside. I know it is Morgan State

As Skip Prosser would say, made shots make any team look good. 80% from the field 10 minutes into the game makes every team look good

Great start. We had 31 points in the first 10 minutes. Freemantle is killing it ( 16 pts 9 rebounds and 4 assists). Foster with a very good first half. Happy to see Fletcher get in and Maddox looked good. They can't defend Freemantle or Hunter. Swain came back very well after getting head butted. Morgan State is not a good team but still happy to see the team playing well.

Hugely is the missing link. It is too bad he cannot play but on paper with his size and height if he could play he is just what we need. We are One guy away who can rebound protect the rim and does not turn it over and we are a top team. Unfortunately we do not possess that guy

My Kind of Guy, Cam Fletcher, got in tonight, and he can be a force rebounder and make 3s like a pro. I hope Sean uses him more after tonight's show.

Grant that it wasn't against the toughest of teams, but looking through this and other threads, it appears some were about to jump off the bandwagon.

A nice three-game sweep of the next three ranked teams would be a nice end-of-year gift to the old muskieman.
