Pace

Well I'm looking to find a reason for this team's struggles. I know Miller likes his teams to play at a fast pace. I'm wondering if that style doesn't match this year's team. Look at Maddox. In his four previous years the lowest he has shot from the field is 42%. This year he is shooting 34 %. It seems like he has one good game and than struggles the next three games. Conwell is better suited to a slower pace game. McKnight is a tough guy who plays hard but he is no speed burner himself. Even Green seemed like he had happy feet and was shooting the ball too quickly. Really the only guy who benefits from the fast pace style is Swain. Losing Traore and Freemantle hurt us in so many ways. With Traore we would have had a rim protector and we would have had a lot more fast breaks for Swain. Not sure if we are tired at the end of games but we only played 7 guys last night. That might explain missed foul shots and turnovers, I believe if we had Traore we would have had three more wins. I believe the talent level needs to improve too. Don't know why we missed on targets but we need a influx of talent. I would like to believe it's the N.I.L. money which is hurting us but I'm not sure. I would love to see us recruit more high school guys. I think tired legs played a big part in Georgetown's Mack having a big game like that. He's not that good of a player.
