When: Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m.
Where: Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee, Wis.
TV: FOX national, including FOX 19 in Cincinnati, with play-by-play from Brandon Gaudin and analysis from Robbie Hummel.
Xavier Radio: 55KRC also available on the Varsity Network and on Sirius XM
While X is hoping for a third straight win, Marquette is enjoying a six-game streak but was given a big scare in their 85-83 overtime win at DePaul on Tuesday. Marquette is honoring their 1993-94 Sweet-Sixteen team, and there will be a whiteout for the fans, so be sure to wear your blue Xavier gear, fans. X needs to win for many reasons, but one is because the Golden Eagles have claimed each of the last five meetings, including a 72-70 win at Cintas Center on Dec. 21, 2024.(A game X should have won)

My bad, St John’s will likely make it and maybe Creighton

MQuettte beat three Tourney teams, Wisky, Purdue, and GA, by an average of 14 points, and Creighton by 8, so I expected it to be at least 10. Free had a rare, bad game against Nova and X still won, so hopefully he shows up big today.
Swain is playing more and more aggressively driving to the hole, which X will need today. I would love to see these five on the court mainly today: Free, Hunter, Swain, McKnight, & Conwell. Hunter is playing poorly offensively, so he needs to limit his offense to stick-backs and the occasional wide-open three. However, he is playing at a very high level defensively along with Swain. I like Foster and think he plays solid D and shoots it well from 3, but he isn’t quick enough to create offensively or guard their guards and wings, and too small for Joplin.
Marquette got to the lane at will last game, but shoot poorly from 3, so I really hope SM sprinkles in some zone. I smell an upset: X 74, MQuette, 71.
On another note, I have to apologize for my absence from the Board recently. No need to send DMs to me, as I hear it from Mman and OSD all the time, as well as the fair-weathered fans heckling me in our Moderator’s suite. I have cut down my duties from other boards like Furman’s Cornhole Board, so hopefully, I will be able to contribute more in the future. Lord knows this Board is in dire need of much better insight.

We need to get a complete game from everyone for a change. Take way Conwell vs Nova and the rest of the team was not good offensively. Jones is a tough matchup as well as their bigs. It would be nice to get a contribution from Maddox, but he is undersized and limited. Hunter played well defensively but I don’t count on much from him even at 25 years old. Foster does not have the size or quickness for BE. Glad to have AH back.

Remember, Freemantle did not play last game. Marquette cannot dictate the game flow like they did last game.

Swain needs to dunk the ball on his drives.

This is the best D I have seen us play all year. I hope I don’t jinx them
