Who would you like as coach
I hate doing this every 3-5 years. But here goes. You mak chose up to two
I asked a ref if he could give me a technical foul for thinking bad things about him. He said, of course not. I said, well, I think you stink. And he gave me a technical. You can't trust em.

Anyone who votes for Mack deserves what is coming to them again.

I'd lean towards Mack, Murray 2nd. I like Pitino but think he has very high ambitions and would leave for the 1st big-name job. The top programs love poaching X coaches.gym from delhi wrote: ↑Mon Mar 24, 2025 11:11 amI 'd take Luke Murray, done well with that U Conn offense

Whomever it is will leave before the fans want him to or will be so bad we will want him fired.Jesseandrippers wrote: ↑Mon Mar 24, 2025 9:39 pmAnyone who votes for Mack deserves what is coming to them again.
Mack is the best option this time around just like Miller was 3 years ago. Hopefully Mack is the choice and he stays 5-7 years.

Who were the most successful X coaches? All guys who used X as a stepping stone. Almost all of them left X in a better spot than it was before they got there. Steele was the first real setback for the program in a long time. Don't be afraid of the upstart coach, even in the age of the transfer portal. I would rather have a coach do well and be recruited away than come and fail.Anti-Homer wrote: ↑Mon Mar 24, 2025 10:17 pmI'd lean towards Mack, Murray 2nd. Re: Who would you like as coach
I think Chris Mack makes sense for many reasons, but I wonder if Dante Jackson is ready for the job. I think he has the right character for the job and I think he actually loves Xavier.
The roller coaster of coaches using X for stepping stone is very destructive to growth of the program. I would be weighing heavily if a candidate has a sense of genuine affinity for the university, and not just as a launching pad to other jobs. I hope that if the administration is going to hire Mack that he gives them some genuine sense that he wants to stay for a few years, and that there’s a hefty buy-out.

I see your point, but those coaches, but aside from Thad Matta and Miller2.0, stayed a few years, as did key players.Jesseandrippers wrote: ↑Tue Mar 25, 2025 6:13 pmWho were the most successful X coaches? I agree that the coach doing well is the primary goal.

I don't want Mack because of the way he left the best team in X's history. Granted it was a team he built, but he didn't finish the job.

It looks like Pitino by a nose. Bring your damn point guard with you!
