Signed with Orlando Magic for their summer league
I asked a ref if he could give me a technical foul for thinking bad things about him. He said, of course not. I said, well, I think you stink. And he gave me a technical. You can't trust em.

I think Freemantle has a real chance to make the team. The Magic starters Banchero, Carter and Wagner are good but not a lot of bench depth in the frontcourt. If Freemantle can hit his wide open three's he could make it. That's a big if at this point but it wouldn't surprise me if he makes the team

I see Q is moving on from the Lakers to New Jersey's summer league.

It is gonna be a tough road for ZF. I'm not sure he will get the opportunity to show what he can do.

Orlando has 20 guys on the Summer League roster. Much of the PT will go to their 2024 and 2025 draft picks.

ZF is almost 25 years old and was assigned jersey #63. Not a great combo.

KR,

I wish I shared your optimism, but you’re talking about an unathletic, 6’9”, 24 or 25-year-old PF. He was a great college player, but he lacks the quickness and skillset to play a perimeter 4 in the NBA and doesn’t have the size or quickness to get his shot off consistently in the post. There’s also the matter of defense. The average NBA PF is about 6’10,” athletic, and can guard 20 feet away from the hoop.

I will be rooting for him, but I think there’s a better chance of Muskieman leaving a double-digit percentage tip at Ruby Tuesday’s than Zac making the NBA. He can make a lot of coin overseas, though. That’s probably his path.

Anti-Homer. All valid points. I just watched the Magic vs Kings game. Freemantle didn't get off the bench. I thought the Magic had a horrible roster. Doesn't look too good for Freemantle.

There was a time where players like Free would have had a chance to make a roster. Those times have passed.

If you watch any of the games, it's terrible basketball. Outside of the obvious guys you know are making the team, 90% of these rosters are completely watered down.

The only draw are the big names and the 2-3 guys that make a name for themselves by playing very well.

Drudy23. I really am not a big NBA fan and your right the summer league is awful basketball. I remember a couple of years ago Basketball Jones got 22 rebounds in about 25 minutes one game and he still didn't make a roster.. Freemantle has holes in his game but heck they all do. Freemantle is a bit light (225 lbs ) and not as long as most of the NBA front court guys but he is a lot better on offense than any of the prospects I saw last night. Hell Flagg struggled last night. I wish Freemantle would get a chance but they look like they already have their minds made up.

Unfortunately, Free is not a good enough athlete or defender to play in NBA. He can carve out a good niche overseas. Luckily, NCAA players are overpaid currently so he made some bag the last two years.
