Rick Pitino compared Richard Pitino's start at Xavier to his first season with St. John's.
"He's gonna have a difficult season. That's to be expected when you have 13 new players and you're just starting out. The good thing is he's at Xavier − great basketball tradition, great arena, great city.
"I hope he has great success. I hope he kills it. It won't happen this year, though."

I asked a ref if he could give me a technical foul for thinking bad things about him. He said, of course not. I said, well, I think you stink. And he gave me a technical. You can't trust em.

Daddy running interference with a pre-emptive excuse for his 40-year-old son. Very sweet! I wonder if Kelsy's pappa did the same for Pat last year before his great year at Louisville?muskieman wrote: ↑Wed Oct 22, 2025 9:17 pmRick Pitino compared Richard Pitino's start at Xavier to his first season with St. John's.
