New day. New team with little hope from many fans, but hey, X has had 35 straight opening-game wins. Let's make it 36
This is Marist's first meeting with Xavier.
In its Division I history, Marist is 18-26 in season openers, including a 4-3 record under head coach John Dunne.
Marist's Nov. 3 season opener ties its earliest in program history, topping its start of Nov. 4 last season (at Harvard).

Marist returns 60 percent of its scoring from last season.

Marist went 20-10 overall and 13-7 in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference play (third place, MAAC quarterfinals) in the 2024-25 season, which was the program's fifth 20-win season in its 65-year history.

Well,

My 1st prediction of the year. Though I hide it well, I wasn't feeling very confident about the year, including tonight's game. However, after having a pregame meal with Coach Pitino and the rest of the team at the Schiff Family Conference Center, I had a major confidence boost. It grew even greater when told Pitino has a number of sets to get Anderson and Filip open treys.

I know nothing of Marist, though they seem like a decent mid-major, including having two preseason All-Conference 1st teamers on their squad. Nevertheless, my prediction is X 77, Marist 66.

Also, for future reference, we MODs are going to be rolling out a betting app soon. The vig is a little higher (30%), but we are contributing 2% of our fees to NIL. Just another innovation we're rolling out to our 37,000 premium members.

Nice start to the second half. Defense = points as X on 6-0 run. Anderson was Ofer in the first half, but his defense created a scoring opportunity for him within the first minutes. 35-19 Keep this up because Marist not good as they have turned it over 15 times so far.

Marist could hit the broadside of a barn, but they woke up and are now on a run. Lead is 8 for X

X has been fouling so much this half, and Marist is now at the line to maybe take the lead. X was up by twenty, I think, at one time, and now, with the game on the line, they look too scared to win.
