ODU record 2-2 Losses to Miami (Ohio) and GW
Head Coach Mike Jones, who was hired in 2024, was able to hold on to the three players he most wanted to keep – Robert Davis Jr., the team’s second-leading scorer; 7-foot center Caelum Swanton-Rodger, who was ODU’s most improved player from the beginning of the season until the end, and Stephaun Walker, a 6-7 forward who was a monster on the boards before being he was injuried the last third of the season. They have five seniors on their roster this year.
Jones added to that half a dozen transfers from other schools. The Evinmaya website rates ODU’s portal class 64th in the nation, in part because ODU was able to re-recruit those three starters.

ODU Game thread
I asked a ref if he could give me a technical foul for thinking bad things about him. He said, of course not. I said, well, I think you stink. And he gave me a technical. You can't trust em.

home or not, there's no way we should be favored by 9.5 tonite. ODU lost to Miami of OH by 15, but i'd venture to say that Miami would beat us by double digits right now on any court so not sure how we are favored by that much.
take the points. book it.

18 assists on 18 made baskets, not bad. 51 -29 50% from field, 40% from 3 and 90% from line. Best half of the year

Re: ODU Game thread
my biggest takeaway from this game is that ODU is BAD. REALLY BAD. we obviously played well and when you shoot the ball well, that has the ability to mask all of your other flaws. that was the case tonite.
and no, I didn't bet anything on this game.
jury still out on this team. still expecting a bottom 3 finish in the Big East.

Worked late and missed the game but very happy about the result, I hope Moore and Robinson can get going. We are going to need them. Go X

Re: ODU Game thread
I was pleased with the improvement and adjustments Richard made even if ODU was bad (slightly better than Marist). Jovan and Wright are keepers and will only get better. I wish I could say the same for Robinson and N'Diaye. Neither of them know what to do or where to go on defense and both have stone hands. All they need to do is rebound, dunk on offensive end, and rim protect. Hard to believe neither can do any of those, which will kill us against good teams. Moore needs to get aggressive and drive to the basket. Roddie is a scoring SG in a PG's body. As long as I see improvement I'm good. Panoam owes us his NIL back.
