Re: OT--GW in at #2...
I was in Oxford Sunday for the club FB game, and was struck once again by how attractive a school Miami is. The question is why would a young person go to GW, which is no better academically than Miami, for quadruple the cost? Notre dame checks in at $49 K a year, so I would ask the same question. These private schools have lived off the fatted calf for far too long.

gym, I'm not sure what the fatted calf is. High tuition? Where do you draw that line?
GW vs Miami...you're kidding, right? Miami is a swell little Ohio undergrad college, and a pretty competitive student body profile. It is culturally in the middle of nowhere, with the closest outposts of the facsimile of a city, co-op and intern possibilities in freakin Dayton. GW has graduate schools out the wazoo, a huge endowment, and incredible opportunities in virtually every academic and professional discipline. (I will pass over in silence why they can't play basketball in anything nicer than a second-generation high school gym.)
Taking in-state southwest Ohio public U prospective student population out of the mix.....If you could afford out of state tuition at Miami and private school tuition at GW, why would you choose Miami?

You left out class size and the fact that at private schools you have more real professors and fewer grad assistants teaching classes--many of who have very poor English skills. I've never taught a class larger than 40 at X. Routinely had 200+ at state schools.

These prices are sad...
What is more telling is that the difference in price from the #1 school and the #50 school on this list is only around $6k
