Muskieman:

You are better than that, you clearly intended it as a pejorative as you connected it with the high NIL money as if he underachieved. Heck, I am no Miller fan, but we all know he can Coach.

Frankly, there are few good discussions left on the Board and I am disappointed in your post. As I noted, Greg Christopher should be our focus.

Let’s agree to disagree.

First of all, Sean has never been to a Final Four, even with all of the high NBA draft picks he has had. So, no, we all dont “know” he can coach. The man is an elite recruiter.

Second, we have had zero to root for this season. Like any good fan base, we try to keep interested by finding rivalry. Sean is a good target. When we have something on the court resembling a real basketball team, I am sure folks will ease up on your man crush Miller.

Finally, Pro Tip - strengthen your own posts before you tear apart and harp on others with multiple posts and then get then have to get the last word in before your “agree to disagree” comment.

A misread of my posts. Clearly stated I am not a fan of Miller.

You assert Miller is not a good Coach? That would be a minority opinion among basketball experts and fans. Plus, the point has been let’s stop focusing upon Miller. Doing so is unproductive. You disagree, believing poking at Miller is all Xavier fan’s currently have for sport.

Let’s focus on Richard Pitino and Greg Christopher. Where would Pitino rate in college coaching? Hire a Coach with only two NCAA wins in his previous thirteen seasons? Hire a Coach who will promptly leave if he has any success?

Guess it needs to be more strongly emphasizd that Xavier’s AD has failed the fandom and no one appears interested in discussing same. Saw the slide at DePaul and the mistakes made back in the ‘90’s and then again in the mid ‘00’s by two AD’s. X’s situation is becoming eerily reminiscent, but can be reversed.

Insofar as your comment upon my closing remark, long respected Muskieman and other posters. Down through the years we have bantered and ended on a similar note.

Whoa, guys, we are all X friends here, I hope.

As for Christopher, who openly complained when Steele was fired? Maybe, me a little.

Who openly complained when Sean was hired?

Who openly complained when Richard was hired after Sean dumped us?

After one year, now we hear the complaints. How about a little patience after all, I have been waiting over 70 years, and through all the success, I still have not seen a final four with X.

If we get the same thing next year, then burn down Christopher and Richard.

In three seasons, Miller brought Xavier to two NCAA tournaments and a trip to the Sweet 16 as a No. 3 seed in 2023. Miller was only at Xavier for three seasons, his second time around, but he wasn't as successful as he was during his first stint when he won over 70 percent of his games.

As I recall, Sean's first season back was great with many of Travis' players, but I do believe in his second season, even with more talent, he was under .500 for the first time in a long time.
I asked a ref if he could give me a technical foul for thinking bad things about him. He said, of course not. I said, well, I think you stink. And he gave me a technical. You can't trust em.

Muskieman:

Thank you for the post, confirms we agree on much.

Similarly, after year three of Coach Steele, I strongly advocated for his dismissal. Opposed the hiring of Coach Pitino at the inception and stipulated why.

My intent has been to raise the issue and ensure Greg Christopher is held accountable. Xavier’s Women’s team is, unfortunately, also a laggard. You nailed it, we all want Xavier to succeed!
