NCAA Tourney

Me thinks TX getting 6.5 points today with the Zags center/2nd best player out today is crazy. I hope I'm wrong, but think Texas will get a lot of 2nd chance points and win outright. I do root for 2026 NBA 1st rounder Dailyn Swain though.

Anti- Homer. I agree Texas getting 6.5 seems like too much. I know I'm the only one but I still like Miller. Swain has become a NBA player like everyone but me recognized years ago. He still can't shoot but he can rebound and score. . I also think Texas will win outright

I don't dislike Miller either. I'm just apathetic towards him, as I was to both Matta and Mack when they left. Also, Miller tried to stay at X. I am no insider, but someone who is privvy said he wanted assurances from X that they'd be compeitive in the new era of NIL. That's not an unreasonable request, and you saw the result this year, even a middle of the road budget.
Miller not only won 3 Tourney games in his 2nd return, but more importantly, "got the train back on the "f"ing tracks" like he said he would.
That said, I still say Horns Down, bc with the exception of Steele, Gillen and Prosser, I want coaches who leave here to not experience the same level of success.

I believe that is the reason Miller left. I have no facts but I believe that was the case. Miller can coach. There is no debate about that. He has won over 500 games and likely will win 200 to three hundred more. We should have done everything we could have to keep him. Look at us now. We were 6-14 in our own league in a year when the Big East was the worst it has been in 30 years. I am very worried about next year. We are returning one of our 6 best players. Hopefully Pitino can recruit a much better roster than this year. I see little if any desperation in Pitino's outlook. It seems to me he is too rational with the results. We are not a good defensive team so what can I do? He obviously is not worried about his job. We have to retain our own players. How did that workout? Are we supposed to be happy if we improve to a 15-15 team.? I fear that he will have the same success that he had at Minnesota. He was 141-123 which is a 53% winning percentage. He had 3 good years in 8 . Hope I am wrong

Miller and the Longhorns move on to the Sweet 16 out here in San Jose. Three wins in 5 days. Swain was outstanding in the second half. You have to wonder how long it will take Pitino to get three tournament wins?

In one NCAA Tournament? Or for his career?
Coach Pitino in 14 years of Coaching has taken his teams to the Tournament a total of four times. His overall record is 2-4. Underwhelming in my view. His 2016-17 Minnesota Team may have even broken your bracket as a #5 Seed, losing to #12 Middle Tennessee State 81-72. His career has been far more sizzle than steak.

ChitownSteve Miller in 21 seasons has won 25-13 NCAA tournament games including 3 tourney games in the last 5 days. Pitino has a 2-4 tourney record in 14 seasons. I think to not make the tournament is not acceptable at Xavier. Almost everything about Pitino is average so far in his career. It seems to me we hired a famous name who has been mostly pedestrian so far in his coaching career.

You mean Miller, the coach of an 11th-seed "play-in-team" team whose players are in the top tier for NIL money, and taking 2 players from X, one of whom was the star of the team? Maybe just maybe, if Richard had had that kind of money this past year, we could have had an 11th seed... but then fans would be complaining, saying all that more for a play-in team?
I give his a season of better NIL money before I take him down.

Muskieman ... Yes that Sean Miller. LOL. I think the SEC is quite a jump up from the Big East this year. The SEC had 10 teams with at least 20 wins. If Pitino did get 3 tourney wins this year that would have been more than Pitino had in a entire 14 year career. I doubt Xavier will do anything with Pitino till his contract runs out. It is too expensive to fire coaches for a school like Xavier. I believe he has a 5 year contract. As far as a play in team I'll take that with the three tournament wins any day.

Anti-Homer I rarely bet on basketball games but I followed your advice and won 100 dollars on Texas. Hook em.
