🏀 Scouting Report: Harrison Aligbe
(Younger brother of Rolyns — similar frame, different game.)

⭐ Physical Profile
Height/Weight: 6'7", ~215–220 lbs

Frame: Long, wiry, still filling out

Athleticism: Smooth mover, fluid strides, good body control

Tools: Plus wingspan, above‑average vertical pop, coordinated for his size

Summary:
Harrison is a wing‑forward hybrid — not as physically imposing as Rolyns, but more fluid and perimeter‑oriented.

⭐ Offensive Skill Set
1. Slashing & Driving
Best offensive trait right now

Long strides, good first step

Finishes well when he gets downhill

Uses Euro steps and body control to avoid contact

Projection:
A secondary slasher who thrives attacking closeouts in a spaced floor.

2. Shooting
Streaky but improving

Comfortable from mid‑range

Three‑point shot is workable but not yet a weapon

Good mechanics, needs strength + consistency

Projection:
Likely a 32–34% college shooter early, with upside to grow into a reliable spot‑up threat.

3. Playmaking
Underrated passer

Sees cutters and weak‑side shooters

Can operate as a connector in 0.5‑second decision‑making systems

Projection:
A ball‑movement wing, not a creator, but helps the offense flow.

4. Transition
Very good open‑floor athlete

Runs wide lanes

Finishes above the rim with space

Projection:
Should be a transition weapon in a pace‑oriented system.

⭐ Defensive Profile
Strengths
Good lateral mobility

Can guard 2–4

Active hands, disruptive in passing lanes

Uses length well to contest without fouling

Areas for Growth
Needs more strength to guard Big East 4s

Can get bumped off spots

Rotational discipline still developing

Projection:
A switchable wing defender with upside once he adds strength.

⭐ Intangibles & Motor
High‑effort player

Competitive on both ends

Good instincts, especially off‑ball

Still learning how to impose himself physically

Projection:
A “glue wing” who impacts winning without needing touches.

đŸ”” Fit in Richard Pitino’s Xavier System
Pitino’s system values:

Pace

Spacing

Versatile forwards

Switchable defenders

Wings who can slash and finish without heavy usage

Harrison fits this mold extremely well.

1. As a Slashing Wing
Pitino’s pace‑and‑space offense opens driving lanes.
Harrison’s best skill — attacking closeouts — fits perfectly.

2. As a Switchable Defender
Pitino wants interchangeable defenders.
Harrison can guard 2–4 and switch ball screens, which is a premium skill in the Big East.

3. As a Connector
He moves the ball, cuts, and plays within structure.
Pitino’s offense thrives with wings who don’t over‑dribble.

4. Development Track
He’s not physically ready to play the same role as Rolyns, but his wing skill set gives Xavier a different dimension:

More perimeter‑oriented

More fluid athletically

More upside as a shooter

⭐ Projected Role at Xavier (Early Career)
Freshman/Sophomore: Rotational wing, 12–18 minutes

Junior: Potential starter as a two‑way wing

Usage: Low‑moderate

Strengths: Slashing, defense, transition

Needs: Strength, consistent shooting

📌 Comparison to Rolyns (Quick Snapshot)
Rolyns: Power forward, physical, play finisher, switch defender
Harrison: Wing/forward hybrid, slasher, connector, perimeter defender

They complement each other extremely well — different archetypes, same motor.
I asked a ref if he could give me a technical foul for thinking bad things about him. He said, of course not. I said, well, I think you stink. And he gave me a technical. You can't trust em.

I thought I would give you a report of both brothers together and how they might impact X this and next year

đŸ”” The Aligbe Brothers’ Two‑Year Potential at Xavier
A realistic, high‑ceiling, system‑fit projection
đŸ§© 1. Rolyns Aligbe — Two‑Year Projection
Year 1 at Xavier
Starting 4

9–12 PPG

6–8 RPG

Best switch defender in the frontcourt

Efficient cutter, spot‑up shooter, pick‑and‑pop threat

Low‑maintenance scorer who thrives in pace

Impact:
He immediately becomes Xavier’s most versatile and physical forward.

Year 2 at Xavier
12–14 PPG

7–9 RPG

35–37% from three

All‑Big East Defensive Team candidate

One of the most efficient play‑finishers in the conference

Ceiling:
A top‑tier Big East 4 who anchors a modern, switchable defense.

đŸ§© 2. Harrison Aligbe — Two‑Year Projection
Year 1 at Xavier
Rotational wing (12–18 minutes)

5–7 PPG

Best slasher on the team

Switches 2–4 defensively

Transition weapon

Developing shooter

Impact:
He gives Xavier something they don’t have enough of:
a long, fluid, downhill wing who can defend multiple spots.

Year 2 at Xavier
Starting 2/3 wing

9–11 PPG

4–6 RPG

33–35% from three

One of Xavier’s best perimeter defenders

A true connector — moves the ball, cuts, attacks closeouts

Ceiling:
A two‑way Big East wing with real defensive value and slashing ability.

đŸ”„ 3. Their Combined Impact (The Real Story)
This is where things get interesting — because their games fit together perfectly.

A. Defensive Versatility
Together they give Xavier:

Harrison: guards 2–4

Rolyns: guards 3–5

Both can switch ball screens

Both rebound

Both play with physicality

This is exactly the type of frontcourt/wing pairing Pitino wants.

B. Offensive Complement
Harrison attacks closeouts

Rolyns cuts, pops, and finishes

Harrison collapses the defense → Rolyns benefits

Rolyns screens and pops → Harrison gets driving lanes

They don’t overlap — they enhance each other.

C. Lineup Flexibility
With both on the floor, Xavier can play:

Pace lineups

Switch‑everything lineups

4‑out spacing lineups

Physical Big East lineups

Pitino loves interchangeable forwards — this gives him two.

⭐ 4. Two‑Year Combined Projection
Year 1 Together
Rolyns: Starting 4
Harrison: Rotational wing

Combined: 14–18 PPG, 10–12 RPG, elite defensive versatility
Year 2 Together
Rolyns: All‑Big East caliber 4

Harrison: Starting wing

Combined: 22–26 PPG, 12–15 RPG

One of the most switchable 2–4/3–5 duos in the Big East

A true identity‑setting core for Xavier

Team Identity With Both Starting:

Big
Physical
Switchable
Fast
Modern spacing

Low‑maintenance scorers who fit system basketball

This is exactly the type of roster Pitino wants to build.

🔼 5. Overall Potential Summary
Rolyns:
A high‑impact, two‑way Big East forward who anchors the frontcourt.

Harrison:
A modern slashing wing who becomes a two‑way starter by Year 2.

Together:
A foundational duo that gives Xavier a real identity — size, athleticism, switchability, and efficient, system‑friendly scoring

All would be great if they both stayed at XU for two years. If they do well in year one they may move on for more money. That’s the reality of college hoops today. Hope they do perform well. X needs a good year to get back on track. Are they both committed or just one?
