Get used to seeing zones

With our backcourt strength, we most likely will see opponents abandoning man-to-man against us and rely on zones to make us beat them from outside. Redford at 2 guard may be an answer if and when that becomes a problem.

That won't be a problem. Sean and his staff will lick their chops if teams go zone on them.
As Steve pointed out again Friday night, the entended three point line means there will be more area inside the arc to maneuver and we have CJ and Mac, as well as BJ, who can and will take advantage of that.
True we have strength in the front court, but those named persons also have great athletic ability to use.
Then there is the outside shooting, and Xavier can handle that very nicly.
I think teams who play zone against us will really be surrendering.
Being very blunt (and Neutral(?) won't like this) I really woudn't want to sit down as an opposing coach and try to figure out a defense ... XU has too many players (really good players) to throw at you to set a concentration on one, two, or three guys.
I agree, a zone is what they will tray ... but it will be to no avail.

If teams play zone:
Redford and BJ and Dante will be ready...they are more consistent than Duncan and Burrell and Lavendar
Cj and Derrick will eat up the paint
McLean, Frease and Love will be tough to keep off the O boards

Huh? How is Redford and Jackson more consistent than 3 seniors last year?
Do you mean potential? Maybe...Lavender was a McD's All American and it showed. I doubt any of our current guards can break a press or drive by their defenders easily.
BJ, Brad, and Dante have never scored like those 3 have. Maybe they will but these are HUGE shoes to fill!

One of the plusses in having a good PG is that he'll get good shots for your SG and other players. Without Lavender's penetration, and without the attention he got, our wing players won't be as open for 3's.

There he goes again.
We HAVE a good PG. In fact we have several.
Wait and see.
