Sean's show tonight

Postby muskieman » Mon Jan 21, 2008 7:26 pm

comments, thoughts,

Xavier bob called and asked about the national media treatment of the A-10.
Sean said the conference needs to be coordinated in the conference scheduling and if so the powers will not pay attention to what the media says.

He also said he asks people when they use mid major what do they mean and he never gets an answer.

Sean commented on Redford's season. he now has 70 FT in a row. The players will be in summer school by June.
I asked a ref if he could give me a technical foul for thinking bad things about him. He said, of course not. I said, well, I think you stink. And he gave me a technical. You can't trust em.

Sean on BJ: "As he says in the paper, he's like a computer. We're trying to get that computer to play some D".

I think Sean would like a blend. BJ playing D like Stanley and Stqanley taking some of those open shots and having a mind set like BJ.

Yeah, that's a good way of putting it.

I think BJ actually played better defense last year than he's playing this year. As to comparing BJ with Stan, I think Stan didn't get the whole well-rounded-game concept until mid- to late-last season. He has really picked up his defense and now scores by driving to the basket and making foul shots. He doesn't turn the ball over to speak of, and is very good passing the ball. These are all attributes that Stan didn't have early in his career. BJ is a bit opposite, his shot struggled his first 1.5 years, so he had to play defense to earn his minutes. Now that BJ's offense is really humming, it has taken a toll on the other end of the court. I've seen players drive the baseline around BJ several times this season and have seen him commit several fouls using his hip to stop players who have beaten him off the dribble. To really contribute, BJ has to refocus on his defense and become an all-around player this year and more importantly next year once Stan is gone.

I expected someone to post here about X playing in Puerto Rico next Nov. I didn't get all the teams but USC stood out and I think he mentioned Hofstra. Also he said the Wooden wanted X but they had to make sure the dates worked.
I asked a ref if he could give me a technical foul for thinking bad things about him. He said, of course not. I said, well, I think you stink. And he gave me a technical. You can't trust em.
