Well, Xavier got the win they needed on the road. GW runs a terrible "offense." Not sure if you can actually call it an offense. Just dribble and shoot. The crazy bounces off the rim lead to rebounders out of position, and GW stayed in the game with a number of second half points.
Time to come home, rest up, and prepare to beat down Dayton...again.
The new board will take some getting used to, but I'm here to stay! I've got your back J.

Re: Solid win at GW
I felt confident even when the lead shrank in the 2nd half and Brown and CJ got in foul trouble because the little general looked like he was back. 20 assists tonight.
I asked a ref if he could give me a technical foul for thinking bad things about him. He said, of course not. I said, well, I think you stink. And he gave me a technical. You can't trust em.

Solid game tonight against a team that plays very well at home. X looked aggressive on both sides of the ball. This win will give X good momentum coming into the ud game.

I bet Hobbs wishes X would never come back to DC. Their last three losses at home, I believe, is Xavier.

Ok, was it just me, or were the ref's horrible tonight? I don't want to look like a sore loser, but it was ridiculous the stuff they called for GW and didn't call for X.

You're a sore loser. As is typical in GW/XU games, they let them play down low. Tons of contact in both directions. Nothing unfair. Great game. I thought GW hung tough and showed some toughness coming back when they could have rolled over.X-Fan wrote:Ok, was it just me, or were the ref's horrible tonight? PS: I just re-read. I guess I presumed you were a GW fan since you called yourself a "sore loser." We won! But my point, otherwise, is the same: it was a consistently called game where they let a lot go on down low. I'm fine with that. I hate too many whistles. At any rate, we went to the line around 15 times in the first half and GW was in the double bonus with about 6 mins left. Things turned a bit in the second half, but that's mostly because GW got more aggressive offensively.

There wasn't anything here that you wouldn't see at any road game. Pretty fair in my mind, we just didn't play our best. But a win is a win.

My sibs at the game thought one ref was not particularly good - there was one blatant travel in the final minutes that immediately preceded a GW three. It was great that X won, so perhaps it's not worth the worry.

The officiating was bad at both ends but consistently bad...But what can you expect in the A10?
Of concern: Stanley appears to have lost all confidence in his shooting. This team seldom does anything the easy way. Thhey're a bunch of nerve wreckers. But I love 'em.
Tonight I saw: CJ Anderson set the early tone and Josh Duncan make a couple of spectacular plays late. Jason struggled, but he was playing against a hacker.
Can't say enough good about Drew. Unbelieveable. Welcome back BJ. Stanley did a nice job of defending #22. He also hit a key shot late on that layup. Derrick Brown was his usual self. He will be a complete player when he flips in a finger roll instead of trying to dunk on that blind pass back to him I think by Stanley.
Adrion and Dante are slowly making strides. I still think Duncan can be a key player late in the season.
Nice road win in a hostile atmosphere. Remember, this is the GW team that held St. Louis to 20 points.

I'll take a road win anyway Xavier can get one, pretty, ugly, blow out or squeaker... Dan
