he has a terrible case of something bad after a loss to slu tonight.
They didn't look like they ever wanted the game.

St. Joe's RPI is now at 57. This now leaves the A-10 with one sure team in and one team on the bubble (UMass), although St. Joe could play their way back in. I posted a few weeks ago that it was conceivable, but not probable, that the A-10 could get 1 team into the tourney. If UMass loses a game or two, that could come true.

Something is not right when Dayton has the second highest RPI in the A10 after how poorly they have performed over the last 13 games. The parity of the A10 is killing the chance for several NCAA bids.

Interesting how the league redesigned the out of conference to accommodate the RPI (successfully) and get more teams in the NCAA, but did not expect one team to win all of their games; one team to lose all of their games; and the rest to go 500!
We go from a 5-bid league to a one or twobid in 2-3 weeks. I guess they better hope we do not win the league tournament.

St. Joe's did not look good which means they will be even more jacked up to play us next Thursday. It's a classic trap game for X. I am also stunned how quickly the A-10 went from 3-4 teams possibly getting bids to now, most likely 2 teams.

Trap indicates something unexpected. X will expect the Hawks to give them their best effort just like every team in contention for an NCAA bid has given them the last month. No trap just another extremely tough road league game.

That was esspecially true of Calethes. Although Majerus took a page out of Sean's defensive scheme and put Lidell on Calethes even though Tommie is several inches shorter than the St. Joe's 6-10 hulk--who incidentally moves like the hulk. It was the same scheme Pete Gillen used when he had Stan Kimbrough guarding the 6-7--6-8 Derrick Chevious in X's first ever win in the NCAA tournament. St. Joe's did not look good which means they will be even more jacked up to play us next Thursday. It's a classic trap game for X. Kimbrough was so damn quick and just hounded the daylights out of Chevious, much in the same way that Stan and Lidell did Calethes.
Now watch, next Thursday, Calethes will go crazy against X...
But forget Thursday. The real trap game is Saturday night in Cintas against GW. They will come in loaded for bear and X may be down a little mentally, not having to win to clinch the A10 regular season outright. Oh, and X may have the No. 1 seed in the A10 tourney, but remember what happened in the Run season when St. Joseph was No.1 and unbeaten.
Focus, guys, focus.

Saturday's game will be the next big test to see if the guys have that hungry for meat attitude. If they are really for real we will see them take out GW or Sean will be hot at practice the next day.
I am betting they are for real.
