Coach on Sean's show tonight.

Postby muskieman » Mon Feb 25, 2008 10:33 pm

Larkin said he is impressed to the size and strength of Phillips. HE asked coach if he likes to play a half court game with this size and coach said he thinks they can run.
I asked a ref if he could give me a technical foul for thinking bad things about him. He said, of course not. I said, well, I think you stink. And he gave me a technical. You can't trust em.

Also McGuff said he thinks he has a great point guard coming in next year.

PA,

The point guard McGuff was referring to is Dee Dee Jernigan. She is 5'11 and from Chicago. She was rated in the top ten guards in 2006. She signed and played for Rutgers for a year. Her mother passed away , and since she had younger siblings she transferred to Wabash Community College in Illinois this year. In order to be close to home and have things in order for the future. She played AAU ball with Harris and T. Phillips. It is my understanding she will have two years of eligibility.

Not sure if Jernigan is a point or not. I tend to think she is more of a Michelle Miller type player as far as position goes. I think the point he was referring to is Tyeshia(sp?) Moss from Columbus. I am pretty sure she is a true point guard.

Check out this link for some comments. His opinion is X's 2008 recruiting class ranks 24th nationally. He notes Moss(ranked #73 in the country among preps) as being " a great shooter with tremendous range."

Some other tid bits I could find:

2 time Ohio D-IV player of the year(07/08). 15.2 ppg, 4.8 assts, 4rb's and 3.7 steals. 5-9 guard out of Columbus Africentric. Team is defending State Champs and playing for another title, starting today in the OHSAA semi's. Knocked off several "big time" schools along the way this year. Teamate, Howard, going to UMass.

Sounds like a good one.

Thanks bob for the info, I see we will be getting 2 more JUCO players.

I was intrigued by dayton's incoming class. 7 players...talk about balancing your classes.

only to be out done by LSU losing 8 seniors and they will bring in 9 players. Good thing they have a #4 recruiting class because they will be young.
