Hanging in there, but just falling short
The XU women have lost their last two games by 3 to Syracuse and by 5 in 2OT to Ohio. Hopefully, this is a sign that Coach Waugh has this team playing scrappy basketball, even if it doesn't have the talent on paper of previous years' teams.

I asked a ref if he could give me a technical foul for thinking bad things about him. He said, of course not. I said, well, I think you stink. And he gave me a technical. You can't trust em.

X pretty much got waxed by Oklahoma in the final game of their holiday tournament. This year may be all about Waugh establishing a style of play and bringing in the players she needs to successfully implement that style.
While McGuff certainly had some success, I thought his teams made a lot of fundamental mistakes, so here's hoping that Waugh can improve on that, especially once her talent level improves.
