Congrats to Xavier

I am a Bruin fan. I watched your win over WVA. You guys have a great team. Very balanced,
good shooters, team oriented, and outstanding coaching. You are a feared opponent, and I was
secretly hoping to get Duke or UConn instead of your team.

As for UCLA, we are an enigma. We have been escape artists in our last dozen games, barely
winning these "nail biters." Still if you look at our complete body of work, you will notice one
rather amazing stat. We have now met 10 NCAA tournament teams, defeating nine of them,
and our only loss a buzzer beater to Texas. And of the Sweet 16 teams, we have already
beaten Davidson, Michigan State, Washington State (twice), and Stanford (three times).
(not to mention two NIT teams, Cal (thrice) and Arizona State (twice). So, we are definitely
not chopped liver.

I am expecting a great game and a close game. But it will be an honor to play a quality
team like Xavier!

Hey Misery, Welcome and thanks for the great words about Xavier. I don't think you will find anyone on here that thinks UCLA is in any way "Chopped Liver". And anyone that knows Xavier will not think that Xavier is a push-over either. Good stats about UCLA they are very comparable to Xavier's stats. Xavier has now played 11 NCAA tournament teams and has only lost to 1 (Tennessee a nail biter at the end). So both teams will be battle tested, they will come out hard, and it will be a great game. I am very much looking forward to it.

Actually, 3 losses. X was 5-3 vs. tournament teams before the tournament: Wins versus Kent St., Indiana, Kansas St., Temple and St. Joe, and losses versus Tenn, St. Joe and St. Joe. But by the Elite 8, it's pretty irrelevant. Both teams have proven themselves. Certainly UCLA has had an elite season, but at this point you better bring your A-game or you're going to lose.
