In C-Bus, Whatshisname went all out to build a high RPI with this OOC schedule.
Delaware State, Iona, UNC-Ashville, Bowling Green, Samford (that's SAM, not Stan --ford) Jacksonville, and, drum roll please, ... Houston Baptist who until this year has been a D-3 program.
He'll also be matched up with Miami (FL) and ND as set by the Big Whatever in their TV deal with the Big East) otherwise he'd probably be able to get New Jersey Tech (0-26 last year), and Findlay. Oh, I forgot. No Findlay. They beat osu last year.
Rounding out the OOC is Butley and Huggy Bear.

Re: Hunting Big (?) Game he is
I thought despite the players leaving the last few years his recruiting classes were going to be strong enough to play a more challenging schedule?
I wonder if he did play a tough schedule and had a .500 ooc record how the osu faithful would react?

I asked a ref if he could give me a technical foul for thinking bad things about him. He said, of course not. I said, well, I think you stink. And he gave me a technical. You can't trust em.

Hmmm, maybe losing your top 3 scorers (Butler, Koufos, Hunter), leaving your high returning man as Lighty (9ppg), had something to do with the light schedule. http://www.ohiostatebuckeyes.com/SportS ... PSID=87805
Of course, the schedule does include Miami (FL) at Miami, ND in Indy, Butler and West Virginia, along with the B10 conf. schedule, which will be tough enough.
And with Koufos going #23 to the Jazz, Hunter signing with the Atl. Hawks, and Butler going overseas to play in Italy, it's not like they lost 3 scrubs.
Heck, we lost Myles, Sato and Chalmers, two of whom never played a second in the NBA, and there was nothing but excuses for X going 17-12 the following year. So, I assume the same level of forgiveness and understanding will be there for OSU this year.

Gary,
Asking for a level of forgiveness for TM is like asking for electricity here on the Ohio Monday morning, 9-15...highly unlikely....but you gnever gknow

Heck, I'm not even suggesting "forgiveness", just fairness, but I know that's too much to ask as well.

Hmmmm, losing three starters, all four year lettermen, one your leading scorer, your point guard, a defensive ace, a gutsy coach goes out and plays Virginia, Duke, Auburn, Missouri, Virginia Tech, perhaps Memphis, Butler, and LSU, seems to me Sean didn't look to whimp out with a "light schedule."
One of the certain facts of life. OSU and South Bend Tech and their apologists always first looks for an alibi.

And some guys are just whiny babies who should grow up and get past something that is the smallest of blips on the college basketball scene. Gee, a coach mishandles his move from one school to another-that only happens a dozen or so times a year, every year.
Grow up and get over it, Wise, and, hate to say it, but you, too, MOR.

Gary, there are many fans that dislike a team or coach and hold that dislike forever. I think Thad falls into a category of he was a great coach for X but some people think a miserable person when it came to exiting his last job.
I personally sent him a fax to osu when he got the job thanking him for his contribution at X and wishing him well and did not bring up the fact that he could have done it in a better way. I even gave him the names of my relatives in Columbus that are big osu boosters.
Thad just has a bad time relating to people that are alums and there are many times when he came in contact with them at X were he showed this lack of social interaction. It is also happening at osu from what I hear from some people in positions at the school.
Thad this year will also lose his right hip/coach which will probably be a bigger lose than any of the players.

What's funny is that while Thad was here, I'm sure I was critical of some of his coaching moves and/or results, and most likely MOR and Wise were all over me for not being loyal enough, or supportive enough, and they would be sticking up for our then-coach.
Then Matta commits the "unforgiveable" sin of changing jobs, which Bob, Pete and Skip did as well, and dozens of coaches do every friggin' year, but he admittedly handled it badly. So what? I repeat, so what?
If his 3-year coaching record had been something like 45-53, we could say "good riddance". Or if he brought down NCAA sanctions on X, we could say the same. All he did was win, win big, and move on.
Grow up, little girls. Respect what he did while at X, and enjoy our current success as well. They're not mutually exclusive.
