Someone needs to talk to the Marketing department or something, someone with business connections or just a lot of ideas because I'm a student and there are only a few things in the book store that I ever want to buy, everything else is just lame. I always go and look at other schools and their online stores to see the cool stuff they have and ours pales in comparison. Frustrating.

This would be a good time to attend a SGA meeting to see if there would be an avenue to address this problem. Are not they there to address issues/problems with campus life?
Go for it. The squeaky wheel gets the oil.

SGA probably has nothing to do with that at all. I mean, they don't make the deals with Nike and Adidas, so that'd be pretty pointless to go into an SGA meeting. SGA deals with students, not the University as a whole, which we can say that the marketing department and Xavier gear can fall under. Sure, students can say something about it, but SGA isn't the way to get it done.

Whats up with the "game day" uniforms that the bookstore offers? Has anyone else seen these? They look horrible..On the flip side, I was impressed witht he amount of other merchandise the book store offered in th elin eof t-shirts, sweat shirts. I don't know this for sure, but if you are an out of towner- perhaps the bookstore has a catalog they could mail you that may have more merchandise than the web site.

However, its 2008 - why in the hell isn't everything available on-line? I'm agreeing with the conspiracy theory that the bookstore wants to monopolize its products.

All one has to do is go to any mall in Cincinnati and see how much OSU/UC crap there is to realize XU is not capitalizing on their brand. For instance, next time you are at Lids (hat store in the mall), take a notice of the selection of XU hats...and the location of where they are at. XU needs to take advantage of its own brand!!!!

Again, the power of emailing and writing letters does wonders around here. get busy on talking to the Marketing Department among other groups. We should have some sweet apparel to market and yet we only have a limited selection. Nuts to the bookstore monopoly, let's think big and get our namesake on some sweet merchandise.

It is important to get the SGA involved. If you can show the marketing department and those involved with making the decisions for the XU gear that the students are unhappy with the current apparel offered, it will be much easier to convince them to change what has been going on for the past 10 years or so. Students run the universities all across the university. All you need is to get them involved and present one uniformed voice and things will change. It would even be a great idea for the university to hold a competition or form a group of students directly focusing on creating new shirts, pants, sweatshirts, etc. to be created.

With our conference growing media attention every year, especially through the Men's and Women's basketball teams, it is vital to show how awesome the school really is by wearing clothing that has something more than just "Xavier University" printed on different colored shirts.

I hope that those who have been discussing this topic has started to take some serious action to try to change this because just ranting about stuff that bothers you won't change a thing. Action needs to follow.

Why not All For One setting up a store with quality NCAA licensed goods.
They could outscource the shipping etc to perhaps Crable, and reap the profits.
They wouldn't be in competition to the Bookstore as that is "student" and this would be "off campus."
Each trip to Cincinnati I go by the bookstore, but I seldom buy anything because of price, or design. I get my hats at the airport for less money and more selection.
Example. I wanted to buy a money clip ... OK, that'll be $20 ... I asked how much money comes with the metal clip.
