Where does Xavier deserve to be ranked?

Postby muskieman » Sun Nov 23, 2008 10:12 pm

They are 5-0 and have just beaten the 12 or 13th ranked(depending on the poles) team in Memphis and they are not hitting on all cylinders.....
I asked a ref if he could give me a technical foul for thinking bad things about him. He said, of course not. I said, well, I think you stink. And he gave me a technical. You can't trust em.

I say #2.
But knowing how voters vote, probably 21.

not knowing who deserves to "move out", I would say, if I were a voter, based on last years' finisha nd this years start...15-ish

A lot will depend on how those immediately ahead of us in the last poll did this week. Without having studied that I would guess that we should be somewhere between 20 and 25. Wonder what Memphis will rank?

It's just what somebody thinks ...

I believe xavier should be around the 17 area. we already have three quality wins. and if the voters don't realize what xavier has accomplished there is something wrong. its time xavier start to get recognized for year after year consistency.

I would have said around what Gary Parrish said. Between 15-17 is about right but I have learned many coaches are lazy and don't give it much thought so I don't use their poll

Considering that we beat two teams that were getting votes last week (Memphis and VT) and that we beat two teams that will be getting votes this week (Memphis and Missouri), we have one of the best resumes to-date. Based on performance, as opposed to early season speculation, we should be in the top 10. That won't happen. I predict 20 or less in both polls. Around 19 is probably what we will get, because voters just are not likely to "punish" the wins of other teams, even if they were against weak competition.

What a good tournament for us...
