My Pre-Thanksgiving story about OUR Gary!

Gary's Parrot

Gary received a parrot as an early Christmas gift, I think from Shadow! The parrot had a bad attitude and an even worse vocabulary. Every word out of the bird's mouth was rude, obnoxious and laced with profanity.

Gary tried and tried to change the bird's attitude by consistently saying only polite words, playing soft music and anything else he could think of to 'clean up' the bird's vocabulary . He even took him with him golfing hoping that the fresh air and bonding would change the bird. Finally, Gary was fed up and he yelled at the parrot. The parrot yelled back.

Gary shook the parrot and the parrot got angrier and even ruder. Gary, in desperation, threw up his hands, grabbed the bird and shoved him in the freezer.

For a few minutes the parrot squawked and kicked and screamed. Then suddenly there was total quiet. Not a peep was heard for over a minute. Fearing that he'd hurt the parrot, Gary quickly opened the door to the freezer.

The parrot calmly stepped out onto Gary's outstretched arms and said 'I believe I may have offended you with my rude language and actions. I'm sincerely remorseful for my inappropriate transgressions and I fully intend to do everything I can to correct my rude and unforgivable behavior.'

Gary was stunned at the change in the bird's attitude. As he was about to ask the parrot what had made such a dramatic change in his behavior, the bird continued....

........"May I inquire as to what the turkey did?'

Happy Thanksgiving to all ~

I asked a ref if he could give me a technical foul for thinking bad things about him. He said, of course not. I said, well, I think you stink. And he gave me a technical. You can't trust em.

A wonderful, safe and fattening Thanksgiving to all. I just arrived in semi-sunny LA today, and have had PC problems, hence my dearth of posts about yesterday's huge win.

X, like Memphis, is nowhere near its peak efficiency offensively, but we played a very good, tough game offensively, and just refused to let Memphis take over the game. If I recall from the game notes, Memphis only had one lead during the entire game, and that was a 1-pt. lead that didn't last long.

Big congratulations to the coaching staff and players for gutting out 3 big wins.

And a happy Thanksgiving to all from this someone who had heard that parrot story before and at first thought it was a quite different parrot story which I can't relate here---Family site and all, including some workplaces.
But anyway, MM, Gary et all, Happy Thanksgiving.

Happy Thanksgiving to all from MOR and Trophy Wife, just back from our little sojourn to Las Vegas.

What a great weekend, with Xavier highlights like watching the Dante shot in Cesar's Sportsbook, and winning $120 on the Memphis game in the Hilton Sportsbook- $40 on the first half, $40 on the second half and the final $40 on the full game. Only broke even in blackjack, though.

LV was vewry, vewry qwiet this weekend by comparison from what I'm used to. One of my blackjack dealers told me that they were only expecting about a 30% occupancy rate in all the hotels this week. They, apparently, are experiencing a "negative economic growth rate." There are tons of foreclosed houses for sale- probably from all the stupid speculators and so many of the hotels and condos have overbuilt. We were accosted continually by people from Mariott and Wyndham trying to hawk their timeshares.

If you want to buy a Las Vegas property, right now is one helluva time to do so, if you have the bucks.

I'm passing on turkey yjis year. Considering what I have been called, it just seems too much like cannibalism.

Anyway, MOR, I have been in Vegas when the temp was 119 degrees. I can think of better places to live.
