I'm coming in for the LaSalle game this Saturday. We hope to make the "alumni trifecta"-City View, Quatman's and Dana's-before the game.

And I just picked up an XM radio, which should make the trip that much more fun. Damn, this modern technology is something!

If we don't win Saturday, it will be a LONG drive home. This should be a chance for X to get its shooting back on track, and some minutes for Jackson/Graves/Bronson.

I went the XM route primarily so I could start listening to Kornheiser again in the morning, and the PGA Tour channel. Now I see Patrick follows Kornheiser, so that's nice, and I can also pick up WLW if I need to at work or on the road. And, of course, the multitude of music channels.

Realistically, there'll be a single receiver offering both Sirius and XM in the not-too-distant future. It's the only thing that makes any sense. I'd love to listen to Stern again as well.

XM is great.

Best channel?- "Deep Tracks" channel 40. Sounds just like the old, subversive underground FM radio from the late 1960's.

Remember WEBN with "Jelly Pudding" (aka Frank Wood, Jr.)? Good stuff like that.

Having WLW on channel 173 sure helps too.

Of course I remember WEBN! It was a great station, and one of the better FM stations around in its time. It's a shame that it's not the progressive station it once was.

I'm driving in with fellow LHS-er Bill Weghorst on Saturday (probably get into town a little after noon), and then head back to Indy after the game before driving back to Chicago on Sunday morning.

It's supposed to be a pretty decent day in Cincy on Saturday-low 40s and sunny. Good travelling weather!

Jelly Pudding show is on Sunday nights, I believe on WVXU. During the summer and fall, neighbors and I sit outside by a fire and listen to it and drink. Good times.

MOR, Frank Wood built himself a nice empire from that little show on his father's FM classics station. I was oblivious until I brought a little group into town for a week of concerts, Jim and Jean. They played the Muskie grill, at OLA, a concert in the Theatre, and somehow booked themselves to sit in for a jazz set at Mahogany Hall in Mt. Adams. We ran into Woods there, and he had them live on his show. I went along, and he was an astute hipster from the beginning.

Yes he did Carlos. Pretty astute is right. Of course, his father, Frank Wood Sr. owned the station and after Frank Jr. convinced him to change formats, Frank Sr. insisted that he still be able to host a classical music show on WEBN on Sunday mornings. They then formed JACOR Communications that grew like hell and got bought out by Clear Channel.

I want more Brute Force Cybernetics!!
