Xavier no. 3 BE and top 35...?? lol
I do not put a lot of trust in any pre season article or poll. The best prediction I have seen so far has Xavier finishing third in the BE and in the top 35 nationwide. lol I would take that now. Because I do not see that happening.

Has anyone heard a rumor that Freemantle is going to have foot surgery? Someone told me that yesterday, but doesn't seem to be much out there other than he's week to week.

I’ve heard nothing about his condition, but if he’s out for awhile it will be time for Ben Stanley and Jerome Hunter to show what they’ve got, Our depth looks like it’s going to be challenged early on.

I heard that he has had issues, but nothing about surgery. Steele was on the WLW on Tuesday and didn't mentioned anything about it. He did mention that he was excited about playing Miles possibly playing along with Free, but he has said that for a couple years. I also heard he offered MM a gently used Ford Taurus with low miles to replace his Crown Vic.

Despite what the used car salesman said on Tuesday Freemantle is out for a month.

Hopefully ZFree is back for the OSU beatdown.
Xavier always goes to the NCAA tournament, and almost always makes some noise while there. Projecting anything less than that this season feels like folly--Eamonn Brennan (ESPN Summer Shootaround, 2012)

Hopefully ZFree gets surgery now, even if he misses the OSU game. Love his offensive game, and hopefully his glaring defensive deficiencies were due to being undersized. That being said, he struggled against 4s too, during the precious few minutes he and underutilized Griffin played together. He doesn't crouch into a stance, but plays D straight standing up with nervous feet. I'm optimistic b/c he's a hard worker, and X has great recruiters...as well as coaches, so am sure his instruction this offseason addressed that. Funny, kind of sounds like how Steele regarded Tandy's game, but one gets a 40 foot bungee cord, while the other gets a one inch Steele rope. Vegas has an over/under that Tandy's uniform will have to be washed every 3.5 games this year. I'm going to take the over.

Foot issue is worrisome for a bball player. Long healing and often require extended non use. Tricky.

I heard 4-8 weeks. Remember he has to get into playing shape Hope Nunge, Hunter, Stanley can take care of Free's spot.
I asked a ref if he could give me a technical foul for thinking bad things about him. He said, of course not. I said, well, I think you stink. And he gave me a technical. You can't trust em.
